    All police in Norway have a three year bachelor's degree in policing, and many decide to build upon that to a master's degree. The major components of the bachelor's are human rights, criminology, ethics, communication techniques, of course there are tactical training too, but the major parts is about being a social worker. And it works, if you look at the statistics. The Norwegian police is actually unarmed - the gun is locked in a weapon locker in the car and only comes out when they are allowed to take it out due to a high risk call or an otherwise heightened risk in the country.

Those who doesn´t stand the darkness in winter, the cold and icy winds, they often move south. It´s the same here in Sweden, where people proudly speak their accent from the northern regions, where many work with foresting, in mines and so on, creating really hard people. Or did. Things are changing in many ways.

    Norway has several different dialects like southern, northern and eastern which is the one the cops speak called bokmål, or "book language" which it's called and is the official spoken and written in Oslo and south east. The drunk guy has a typical northern accent where swearing is commonplace and they speak from the gut, so to say. That's the fun part, because those who speak bokmål are a lot more polite and heavy swearing is not as common.

    • @Spacemongerr
      @Spacemongerr 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Bokmål is not spoken by anybody, it is a purely written form of Norwegian.
      Yes, the dialects in and around Oslo are the ones that sound closest to Bokmål if it were to be spoken, but they are not Bokmål.
      Example sentence in an Oslo East dialect and Bokmål:
      "Nå må'kke'ru rope så fært, gå til sko'ern me'rræ" -Oslo East
      "Nå må ikke du rope så fælt, gå til skolen med deg" -Bokmål

But as some point you got to end the chase).
    Both the above shows I can only find in Norwegian or Danish tho. And many episodes are taken offline. either due to the police using illegal methods/more force than needed. Or that specific officer lost their job due to illegal activity. So around 2016-18 a lot of uncovered and people lost a lot of faith in the system. Lofoten is located in northern Norway. People from the region have a more colorful language and of course a different dialect. His voice is most likely distorted.
    All Norwegians are aware that we who are from the north are more direct in our speech, and that swear words are loose with many - and especially drunk people. There have been court cases where people from the north have been acquitted of calling the police "horse cock", because it is such an integral part of the language in the north, and it doesn't even have to be negative. Because of the dialect and the language in general, there are many people in the south who believe that people from the north are more easily aroused, but that's just nonsense, it's about their perception of us. We just don't have the same social code for what is okay to say and what isn't.
    People from the west are somewhere between northerners and easterners (Oslo and surroundings), and people from the coast in the south have the strictest social codes for what is okay to say and do. "I got so angry at him that I broke his umbrella" is an expression used here in the south where I live to describe the region's strong social control. It took time for me as a northerner to adapt. LOL

They can come across as more direct and angry in their speech sometimes. He probably meant it.. slightly but knowing he is from northern Norway it’s more funny than anything. Plus he was obviously under the influence of alcohol.
    Also I gotta say, I’ve seen several reactions to this video before, and it still annoys me so bad that the translation is so bad. If I had any clue how to do it I would edit it myself😅. And theres several comments that are not translated. F, ex he doesn’t say psychopat hospital but mental hospital and he doesn’t say heart dead but brain dead.

    Lofoten is quite north in Norway and I'm quite sure the show scrambled the mans voice.

      They did somewhat, but not much. As he says, he is from Lofoten and they can be quite direct and honest, so he probably "didn't feel at home" in Lofoten and moved to Oslo, where all the weirdos live. You know like artsy-fartsy Seattlers.

    Too bad the person who wrote the subtitles are not that good at english. A lot of what he is saying is actually way funnier than the subtitles let on.
