Creating HTML Files, Linking Between Pages, and Adding Your Own Images

CodePen is great, but eventually we need to learn how to create our own website files. Let's use Visual Studio Code to create multiple pages and link between them, and also add our own images to our pages.

It might be worth mentioning that the 'target' attribute really means "the name of the window/tab to open the link in", and "_blank" is a special name that never matches any existing window, which has the effect of always creating a new window.
If you like, you can give the link to your TH-cam page a target of "My TH-cam page", and the first time the link is clicked, a new window/tab will be created with that name, but any subsequent clicks will just switch to that window/tab, rather than opening a new one.
I only mention this because it seems most tutorials only ever mention using target="_blank" and never go any deeper into it, and switching to an existing window/tab can often be a more desirable behaviour than always opening a new one. Linking to your TH-cam page is a perfect example ☺

Thank you for all the explanations. I had a school HTML code and it needed a image. I was scared that I had to sit for 2-3 hour but after watching your video it was simple and I did it in 30 minutes .

Instead of typing "doc" + TAB, you can also use "!" + TAB. It will add the "" at the beginning of the code.

Hi everyone, for some reason my CSS is not working at all. I cant change any colours, cant edit the image size. I can put the image in but I cant do anything with it. Please help

good video but no need for explaining too much. You can mention very basic things like choosing a text editor in the description or another video. so it will reduce the length of the video. You can upload like part1 part 2 etc. This is only a suggestion. Keep uploading informative videos like this. Thank you for teaching us.

is that html files can be save as 1 html?
I know how to do this but I really need to learn webpack and how to load images in react with webpack or other module bundlers.

There's definitely going to be a webpack lesson in the programming chapter. I'll try to remember to include loading images.
had trouble linking a favicon, had to watch your video to figure out the best method is to just let visual studio to auto fill it for you. smh. cheers
