When you're taxed to death, what's the point of trying.
Increasing the inclusion rate for capital gains over $250,000 (Which Brian Mulroney also did in 1987, then increased it to 75% in 1990) is apparently being, "taxed to death". Interesting take, let's see how it worked out in 1987. Oh, what's that? It worked out quite well? Huh. Imagine that.

Canada's deficit? There's nothing in the world faster than a politician running away from a campaign promise or balanced budget. Balanced budgets are abhorrent to most of them.
It'll further destroy Canadians' chance to get ahead. What is he going raise taxes on next?

Canada has always had to rely so heavily on foreign investment. I wonder why that is.

When we were coming out of Covid. I remember Freeland saying we need to get Canadians to spend and tap into there saving. I guess we didn't spend enough, so they found another way to get our savings

How can you go in a single interview to holding up the USA as a comparison to how we should be performing in our productivity and then demonizing the high debt ... how exactly is the USA dealing with this? Oh right they have the single largest debt load of any country and their debt as a percent of GDP is also much higher than ours. So which is it, do we want the USA's higher debt load to facilitate productivity or do we want to lower the debt? This double speak kills me, all complaints but no solutions!

This is such hand wringing - do you want higher deficits or tax increases? They raised taxes on tobacco (read: vaping products) too. Living in modern society is expensive.

Anyone who has worked hard to build up capital will no longer invest in CDA. We have a bad doctor shortage and doctors will leave CDA. We are being driven into the ground by a failed journalist and a drama teacher

It affects everyone indirectly. The increase in the inclusion rate affects corporations, businesses, home-based businesses, farmers, secondary property owners, physicians, and investors. Prices will go up for everyone.
