I don't think I've found 50 grams of gold in the 10 years I've been metal detecting haha. Hope to see you again on some of my 300 other metal detecting videos

      Hi mate, if there was such thing then yeah that would be a great addition to the backpack during those peak summer months. However, if like me you have sweet sweet blood, there is nothing you can do to stop them, other than wear clothes that cover all your skin. But then they bite you on the hands and fingers, and let me tell you they come keen !!!

      Hi Andrew, cheers for watching and for your comments. Guides and tutorials are great ways to attract more traffic. My beginners guide to metal detecting video has amassed almost 300,000 views and is the sole contributor to why I have 17k subs. That video alone makes me £20 a week, every week, week after week. If only all my videos could perform like that, I'd be rich haha

    What is the maximum depth of the Deus 2 device?

    • @TheDukesOfDerbyshire
      @TheDukesOfDerbyshire  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Well that depends on the size of a target and the ground conditions. For example it should pick up a small copper coin at 12 inches no problem. It would pick up a coke can at probably 24 inches. Wet ground aids in conductivity, so you would get more depth if soil was damp. Hope this helps

    Morning Gareth, another of your great videos. Well shot and to the point. Having been a welder in my lifetime and having a metal shop I have more digging knives and shovels than anyone could use. I still make some knives so I need sheaths for them. So I have a commercial leather sewing machine I can make heavy duty detecting finds pouches myself. I know it's very difficult to film with gloves, but on arable and pasture with livestock you should use hand protection.

    • @martinsanders5418
      @martinsanders5418 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Can you explain why please Robert? I'm new to it all, but maybe missing something, as I don't see the logic here, apart from mucky/scratched hands.
      Unless you're thinking tetanus, but then why just arable and pasture with livestock.
      I ask because I hate wearing gloves for prolonged periods unless it's bitterly cold.

    • @robertwittwer643
      @robertwittwer643 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@martinsanders5418 Glass, flint/stone fragments, rusty metal - you don't want the risk of small cuts when exposed to arable soil with manure and fertiliser (or tetanus). Add livestock urine if you're digging on pasture and dogs if in the Park.

    • @martinsanders5418
      @martinsanders5418 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@robertwittwer643 Ah ok 👍 ... Best to always be aware there may be sharp objects and go at it accordingly, but I'm covered for tetanus, and alright with getting me hands dirty 😉
      Each to our own I guess.
      I think you're giving the wrong impression re the livestock though, as once their urine/feces has been absorbed by the land, especially several inches down, it won't give you any disease or health risks.
      I think you'd be much more likely to get Lymes disease from a tick bite, or run over by a silent electric car crossing the road 😉
      People have farmed bare handed for millennia, and although they are a dwindling breed, that's down to poor Gov't policy, and the power of greedy supermarket chains to keep lowering the price of produce with cheap imports.
      As me ole grandma use to say, when referring to dirty hands and the eating of food ... "Ye''ll eat a ton-u-muck 'fore ye die son" 😁
