Hi lovely friends. One thing I love about winter dressing is cosying up in snuggly sweaters! What are your favourites and how do you like to style them? Lots of love. Deirdre. XX
Hi Deirdre! Loved all the looks but just had to say that Look#6 I also loved the "don't" look! You looked great in the jeans, black sweater, and black boots !! Have a great week!
Right with you I’d wear that just like that and guarantee the men love that look it’s sexy but classy would be a really cute casual hot date night for the winter😘
Excellent video, especially as our summer will be ending soon. I thought you liked very slim and elegant in, #6, I think it was. For me that was a yes. Thank you for the video.
I've styled crewneck sweaters, such as the last one you showed, in a couple of other ways, as well. One is wearing a tee shirt underneath and just having the neckline peeking out, above the neckline of the sweater and two, is wearing a false shirt collar or "dickie" underneath, when you don't want the extra layer. Another wonderful video, thanks! ❤
Thank you Deirdre for all the tips. Since I have gotten older I am finding it harder to find my style. I am 5'3 and I feel like every sweater I put on instantly makes me look 5 or 10 pounds bigger.
Thanks again my dear for the helpful information you gave . Could you please make a video for hair accessories like scarf, head pieces etc ... for women over fifty? I really appreciate your help and advice ❤❤
First: OMG. When I saw you in look 1, I thought "She does not look right! She always looks great. What is she doing???" Then I realized it was a 'do and don't' video. Whew! I found this so helpful though, seeing the wrong way to wear something. Secondly: Ashamed to say I've done a couple of the 'don't' looks. Now I know why they didn't look right. Thank you, Deirdre!
Balance is so important! I don't wear shoes in winter, boots ground my outfits. Too easy to look frumpy or dated after 50, we must pay attention to proportions. Thank you.
My favourite jumper is a cream or white split neck with the flap pinned down with a brooch. I usually pair the jumper with either a plaid skirt or black/coloured trousers and always vary the brooch I use with the jumper.
You could wear the chunky sweater with the wide-leg pants if you're going for "that" look. Just change the shoes to a chunky, platform sneaker or boot. Rock it.
Hi there Deirdre, I’m new to The Uk, trying to Sort out WARM clothes still, as Moved from a warmer Climate.. ! Great tips and inspiration, thank you Jenny 🥶🤣💃🌷
Ty so much Deirdre. I loved this video. I also just want to give you a special Ty for also listing the US links for the clothing and accessories in your videos. You are the only one out of all the TH-camrs I watch that has done this. I for one really do appreciate it. Thanks a bunch and have a lovely week. Hello from North Miami Beach.
I feel the cold so usually wear a thermal vest, fine knit polo, fine knit crew then the 'best' sweater. Wearing so many layers can make me look bulky. I cannot tuck in the top layer and there are 3 layers below it - so now wear a cardigans quite alot as the top layer. It seems to work.
Great video - thank you for your very helpful tips! I’m wondering if these styling tips can be applied to a plus sized figure? I would love to wear my jumpers & blouses with a bit of a tuck in, but then my overgrown stomach/tummy area is exposed for scrutiny - & don’t even start me on the hips & boobs - I’m a 68 year old, 5’5” size 18-20 & would love you to help us gals who are a bit larger than we should be!! Thanking you in anticipation 🥰🥰
Always love your videos. I actually liked number 9 on you. I dont like front tucked sweaters at all. From the side there is extra bulk at the waist. I like your last look sweater and blouse from the front but not the back.
Could you do a video on thick sweater dresses. I have several of them, and I don't believe I'm doing right. When you live in the coldest city in the world you need sweaters. Winnipeg Canada (Winterpeg)
This video would've been a salvation for me last year. I had what I thought was a great oversized red sweater which I wore with tan leggings. Until I saw a pic my son took. The sweater was entirely too oversized. With my large bustline and full waist I looked like a giant red rectangle! I was mortified. 😅 Suffice it to say, the sweater went into the donation bin the very next day. Lol
Great video once again Deidre, thank you! I’m 5’4’’ like yourself. Did you have to shorten the grey Lily silk trousers? I’ve had my eye on them but thought they would be too long x
I do not like the huge sweater in look 1. Those sleeves would drag in everything. My fave outfits actually the don’t… place sweater, tight jeans and black boots. I love that one!😊
I feel like the whole only one who doesn’t like those enormous, long, chunky sweaters. I like my sweaters short, certainly above the hipbone, and finer-knit, so my petite shape isn’t swamped. I love a cropped (just covering my waistband), Polo, collared sweater in cashmere or merino. I hope I find some nice cotton ones for spring, in light neutrals and cool-toned pastels. Most sweaters are still that really unflattering boxy, tunic style, which gives usca brick shape, no thanks. Banana Republic’s Luna sweater is the perfect Polo version, in Petite for me, 5’4”. (No brand affiliation).

Can you share some ideas for spring trends when one is larger breasted please?
I'd like a preppy or French style jumper if I had spare money for clothes 😊
Hi Deirdre! Loved all the looks but just had to say that Look#6 I also loved the "don't" look! You looked great in the jeans, black sweater, and black boots !! Have a great week!
That's really sweet of you, thank you Debby. I just felt that it made me look "flat" if you know what I mean! Not shapely. XX
you're a kibbe soft natural too fyi @@50FabulouswithMyFriendDeirdre

Thank you for the video.
I agree! I liked that look on you too! ❤
It is so helpful to hear the reasons behind the “do”s and “don’t”s! Thanks😀
You're so welcome. XX

I love the styling of having the neckline of a t-shirt peeking out of a sweater. Thanks for sharing. XX
Hi Deirdre! Great video and the visuals really help show the look that is better! Super explanations! Thank you and have a great week!! xx
Awww, thank you Celia. So pleased you enjoyed it xx
I would like to see a video styling sweater dresses. Love your videos too.
Thank you for the idea! XX
Yes please Deidre. I wear them but find with tights the dress starts to "ride up". Very frustrating 😊
Thank you Deirdre for all the tips. Since I have gotten older I am finding it harder to find my style. I am 5'3 and I feel like every sweater I put on instantly makes me look 5 or 10 pounds bigger.
Lovely sweaters Deirdre….many useful tips to be had here. Looking good honey. Thank you for another great video 🌸

So very helpful! TU.
Thank you for this video. I was really having trouble wearing sweaters. I’m top heavy and try to avoid them altogether but that’s just not realistic.
So glad you liked it xx
Love your channel!😊❤
Such a smart lady! Thanks for sharing your expertise.
So helpful mate. I am an inverted triangle too. It hard to balance sometimes. 🇦🇺🪃🦘💗
I have a thrifted cashmere black turtleneck
Great tips as usual.
❤great video idea, just in time !!! 😊

Thank you! Another great video. I actually love all the looks. I'm 6 foot, so it all works well for me. Bty, happy New Year!!

A wide black belt would really help the chunky sweater too.. to define a waist

Hi Deidre, as someone who’s 5ft 2ins, I have to be careful about the way I put my outfits together. Thank you for sharing 🙂
You’re so welcome xx
Another great video 😊
Thank you 🤗

Im do confused with these wider trousers Deirdre
A long sleeved camisole under a sweater keeps one warmer. You have a models body. How do you keep so slim?

I was told that skinny jeans are out of fashion now.
I have a thrifted cashmere black turtleneck
