Can you retry this test on kinky curly extensions? Like straighten them with the color wow and then test how they last under humidity that way we can truly see if this product works for curly hair.
I did this on my own naturally curly hair and it did not hold up. That said, I may not have used enough product. I’ll give it another shot and use more.
@NatalovesLilly The curly dream coat is for wearing the hair curly. It is not meant to be used for straightening the hair nor providing anti humidity protection. in fact, it is not even recommended for kinky curly hair types. The one geared towards kinky curly hair would be the Curl Wow system rather than the Dream Coat for Curls. However, I have yet to find any kinky curly person in the type 4 category who is able to use the Curl Wow system successfully. Maybe someone with a silky surface texture on their kinky curly hair can get away with using it. The regular Dream Coat and Extra Strength Dream Coat are for wearing the hair straight.
Sephora employee here. The extra strength is for the girlies with curly hair who want to blowdry/straighten their hair. Youre not going to see a difference when using the extra strength on straight hair, but a curly haired girl usually will see a difference! Hope this helps anyone in the comment section!
Thanks for sharing that info; very helpful! The original Dreamcoat does not keep the frizz away from my naturally curly hair. So I will give this one a try.
In Florida the humidity has been 84% all summer. Unfortunately, the humidity wins against the original when I’ve used it on my flat ironed natural hair.
So far for me the kérastase discipline leave in in the tube wins against humidity for at leat 3 days. Then I use and anti humidity spray when I go out. Straight silk press for 1 week even without wrapping hair.
Hi, I also have curly natural hair 3c type I wanted to know exactly what products you use the kerastase one you are talking about is not the live in spray? is it the live in cream in a tube from the discipline range ? and what anti humidity spray do you use? help me please, thanks 😀
@@Godluv4L Hello, yes I use the leave in cream in tube from the discipline line not the spray. For spray I use the KMS anti humidity spray once I am done and reapply 10 min before going out each time too. No other heat protectant and I haven't lost my curls yet. (But I do do the l'oreal bond strengthening treatment and a deep conditionner before blow drying so the bond strengthening may be helping a lot) Though as a disclaimer last weekend the humidity was insane in NYC and my hair started frizzing as I was straightening. So I just bought the redken hotsets strong hold to try to fix things in place a little next time. If it doesn't work or too crispy I will return and try another flat iron heat protectant spray with hold. The spray is to be used on dry hair right before the flat iron. I have type 4c hair that shrinks a lot. So the first 2 products may be enough for your type 3C
Thanks for doing this. I have been wondering if the extra strength is any better, but I still have some of the original left - so this tells me I don’t have to run out and purchase it right away.
Omg i love your videos, the are so informative ❤️ When you will do part 2 on the top 5 bond repair products results under the microscope?????? Can’t wait
Oooooooh, this test was helpful! You should try doing the water droplet test on both like you did when you compared the color wow to the hair science sleek dupe ;)
Texas heat is like that steamer here on South Padre Island almost year round! Thanks for that tutorial… now I know why it didn’t work, to much humidity! 😢
Thank you for this video. This is what happens to my fine, highlighted and grey hair. What can I use instead. I have tried arogan oil and humity hair spray? Nothing helps.
the blowout professor says that this or the pureology should not be used as heat protectants as they are not purely designed for that. would love your opinion
You’re supposed to only prep your hair with this product when you apply and can use styling products when the hair is dry. If you’re feel you need a leave in you apply it before and apply Dream Coat last. They say the product is a heat protectant as well.
How would something non capable of holding a straighter/ more frizz free look in a half wavy hair hold that in both curly and coily hairs? Genuine question from a girl with very curly hair 😂 I think it’s quite the opposite… The one designed to maintain wavy hair straight (or to align straight hair) wouldn’t give a proper outcome on curly and coily!

Yaaaaassss
There is one for Curly hair . I once bought it on accident
I did this on my own naturally curly hair and it did not hold up. That said, I may not have used enough product. I’ll give it another shot and use more.
Yes the original doesn’t work great for me 3b haur

Dose the original work the same for 3b hair?

@melissa90ify did you also try the stronger one?

This is the most thorough and quick video ever thank youuuuuuuu
Definitely is a lot shiner! Such a great test

Wow 😮!! Thanks for doing this test- so interesting to see the results!
Doing the lord’s work! Does this double/count as heat protection, and also leave in conditioner? Or is it solely for shine and smoothing?
Thank you so much for this video! I love your channel!! 🩷
I went into a steam room with dream coat on expecting to wash my hair afterwords. It’s stayed sleek and frizz free- I was floored! It’s so impressive
The original one?
Yeah, was it the original one or the stronger one?
I would love to see this with the airstrait. 😊
Love the rigorous testing! Thank you.

This is the first TikTok I’ve ever seen that has the truth on this lotion thank you❤
Happy to hear that there is no big difference since I just ordered a 500ml bottle of the old version 😅😂
Hi Abby how often do you go in for trims please let me know thanks
Thank you for this video. This is what happens to my fine, highlighted and grey hair. What can I use instead. I have tried arogan oil and humity hair spray? Nothing helps.
I actually before the og, the extra strength one is too heavy for my hair and leaves a gunky feeling to it

he's right
Amazing job, Abbey!
Sadly this works like 2 hours in the caribbean. Does anyone have tips for frizzy hair in this horrble humidity?
In Arkansas you will very much experience this heat and humidity in real life.
Thank you!
In what order is this applied? Before, after, or in between the leave-in conditioner and heat protectant?

@@106andie Thank you!
@@106andieso it can be used as a treatment also?
Since Olaplex, this is one product I am super curious about.
Any dupes? Or similar products?
Is there any reason to use it if I dond blow dry my hair?
If it's priced the same I'll take the new one for the extra shine
Good to know since the Extra Stength costs 4 bucks more.
The black top is for curly/coil hair 🙄 if you want to see the proper outcome please use the product properly

Clearly, you don't live in the South. 😅
New one looks worse
