    We can see these islands pretty clear from my families cottage in Caseville. Plan on boating there this summer

    As a kid my family would camp on Point Lookout. I never owned a boat so didn't have the opportunity to travel to Charity & Little Charity. You video saved me a trip.

    Great job on this! I have always thought of Jetski’s as a warm water toy and not something I would explore great lakes with. But these videos have changed my perception a bit.

    Ever since I was a kid I've always wanted to know what was on those islands thank you for checking it out and filming it. I plan on getting a Yamaha jet ski boat this Summer that would be perfect for out there when it's not to ruff.

    • @IndelibleHD
      @IndelibleHD 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Perch have been gone for awhile mate. Not the birds fault. I live in Port Washington and numbers have been down for over a decade. Slowly coming back.

    • @IndelibleHD

      @@donjuwann5868 You can can blame part of it on the zebra mussels. They filter the water out at an extreme rate and take along with it a lot of the zooplankton. This all falls down the food chain and eventually makes it to the Perch. A DNR ranger explained this to me many years ago.

    You mentioned that Charity Island was sold to Fish & Wildlife but that the dirt road leads to a residence. Does Fish & Wildlife maintain the residence?

    • @rodneybrocke
      @rodneybrocke  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      No. As I understand it, the private residence on the north tip of the island is on private property. Just a small piece of the island where the house is, is privately owned and the Fish & Wildlife Service owns the rest.

      @@rodneybrocke If I remember correctly 15 or 20 years ago a guy bought (or already owned) some portion of the island and tried selling plots for people to build on. I think the shallow water around the island and the cost of transporting labor and materials out there made it a tough sell.

      About 40 minutes, round trip, more or less depending on waves and speed.

    Is the water depth ok for a sail boat.? Mine draws 6 feet.

    • @rodneybrocke
      @rodneybrocke  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Consult your charts. It is shallow between the islands and a long way out from the northern tip. The water should be deep enough in the harbor but keep an eye on your sonar on the way in.
