- Having left mainland Europe on a ferry bound for Iceland, there's a pivotal decision to be made: Go straight to The Land of Fire and Ice or disembark at the Faroe Islands?
The team is eager to see what these seldom-visited islands have to offer and learn all they can about this unique landscape.
What awaits is a week of adventures that include everything from driving the world's first underwater roundabout 600 feet beneath the sea, hiking to the iconic Kallur Lighthouse, catching a glimpse of the Northern Lights, and even discovering the legendary tombstone of an icon.
With nightfall arriving earlier each day, the team is racing daylight to explore every bit of this amazing archipelago before they set their sights on what promises to be the pinnacle of the expedition: ICELAND.

The best thing about XO is that you guys aren’t owned by Discovery or Nat Geo. You do it your way on your own terms. It is an amazing production. Admittedly though. I would like to the Nordic series a little more challenging in the vehicle travel aspect. Lol. Keep up the great work.

How does this not have more views. How is this not a fucking phenomenon outside our little overland-bubble? That scene with everyone leaving down the mountain and the photographer turning around for one last shot was BRILLIANT.
This has been one of my favorite episodes so far of Nordic Season...... I will never get tire of it....Great soundtrack, editing, voice over and filming scenes.....just fantastic!
I have wanted to see the Faroe's for two decades now, this video just solidifies the fact that I must do so.
I haven't been the biggest fan of your work in the past few years, especially when compared against the older stuff, but I must say that this series is proving to be one of your best yet. It's the first time that I have found myself in awe of the places you're traveling to in each and every episode and it feels like it's the most informative and educational of all of your series up to this point.
We all love seeing the cool new builds and products/accessories in the wild and the trials and tribulations that overland travel can entail but with this series I feel like I am watching a documentary showcasing the local sights and history more-so than just a 4WD travel channel. Oh, and everyone loves the Van Stralen's so good on you for including the younger generation in this adventure.
Keep up the good work, it's certainly some of your best and I look forward to next weeks installment.

When the Faroese go to the mainland, they often to go the Scandinavian Park Autohof in Handewitt, just over the border into Germany. Its cheaper as there's a form they fill in to get some tax back. You see Scandinavian cars being filled with groceries before heading back north.

I've seen all your videos and each one gets better and better but I don't know how you guys will ever go to such a cool spot as that lighthouse. that was the most beautiful rugged landscape I think I've ever seen.... and to think I've never even heard of those islands before. The drone camera work really helped show the scale of those cliffs and the seagulls almost flying with the drone made for an unreal shot.

The picture of Jesus walking on the water in that church was appropriate for a church on an island. Your lighthouse doesn’t need to be tall when it is sitting on a cliff. The legend is a story of h*ll has no fury like a woman scorned. Like you said at the end, this “detour” seemed definitely worth it. A lot of overland type vehicles on that last ferry.
One question. What did the team say when they pulled into and got that soccer field camping spot?
