Did you do gymnastics before you started capoeira? Was it very difficult for you to learn handstands, cartwheels, headstands? How long did it usually take to learn? Or did you learn as a child when your bones were flexible?
A set of great questions and I am glad you asked as people should hear this. No - never trained acrobatics before, a little bit of parkour before started Capoeira. It wasn't super difficult to learn basic cartwheel but it wasn't natural for me, nothing was. I had to (and still) have to put much more time to learn moves than the 'talented' guys who try things a few times and get it instantly. I have a student at the moment who never trained acrobatics before, only some yoga - so he is fit. It took him about 10 attempts to learn Au De Frente... It took me 1.5 years to learn the movement more or less. Handstand - Cannot always hold for long although I now have loads of confidence on my hands thanks to hours put into training different AUs (After 10+ years of training). What helped my handstand was the 30 day handstand challenge which I did only recently (check it out: th-cam.com/video/VhUihJk4Nag/w-d-xo.html) Flexibility as a child: HUGE NO. I only recently (thanks to lockdowns) started to really work more on flexibility and stretching which also prevents me from getting injured. I was also physically weaker than most of my peers at school.
