How To Minecraft Wither Fight // Guide for Bedrock 1.19+

- Fighting the Wither has gotten much EASIER RECENTLY, because of enchant parity in the most recent updates. Armor is much stronger which allows you more time to damage the wither, making the fight quicker and easier. This tutorial will give you all the tips and tricks needed to battle the wither successfully. The fight in this video was done in HARD MODE on the bedrock edition of Minecraft.
**Please note console and mobile versions of the game can begin to lag because of entities when fighting. Two strategies around this... make picking up blocks a priority when fighting alone, or better yet, invite another to battle with you and strictly pick up blocks.

This video is very useful not only did it teach me how to kill the wither again it reminded me that I need to be patient and collective about going into these fights I’ve been playing MC since cows came and have done all these things before but after coming back after a 2 years break this vid reminded me that patience and resource gathering makes you achieve anything in these games

Thanks for this tutorial. I used your materials list although I changed some things for my world to avoid having it crashing. Ended up fighting the wither on the Nether roof. It killed me once but I was able to head back in with my backup gear and kill it. The bedrock roof really helped keep it in place, sorta. But either way, now I’ve got my first beacon and I feel kinda proud of myself.

Great video, well explained. Just wanted to add if you raise chickens in the fight room the wither will target the chickens instead of you. He won't blast upwards either.

I hope this gets more views, the bedrock wither has such a (now) undeserved reputation. I know how hard bedrock wither was, I killed 2 with my bare hands (and no armor. and no weapons.)
Granted I died a total of like 50 times in the process, but it was a nice way of getting a lot of terracotta before I had a good pick. Also it's really fun to try to fight a near-unsurmountable opponent. Anyways I'm almost a wither expert so when I say that with Protection on your armor(doesn't even need to be diamond!) you can beat it fairly easily, I really mean it.
For mobile players out there, do not heed my advice, it's probably still a bit of an annoying fight, but still doable.
Anyways, fighting the wither without any gear in the open is actually really fun. It's tough, but it's got those real Video Game Boss Fight Vibes to it and your only opening to attack is to use its own attack against it.
Also, fighting it this way is surprisingly not as laggy as you might think. Because it requires you to constantly move, you have loads of opportunities to pick up the items off the floor before they start causing too much lag. To make things easier, you should instead fight the wither with full armor, good food, but no weapons: prevents you from getting one-shot.

1.19 bedrock edition wither fight: The wither is super easy if you 1. Fight at nether roof. 2. Make sure you have protection 3 diamond armor or nether items armor. 3. You need a power 3 bow and arrow (don’t bring crossbow). 4. If you use your sword against the wither in its first stage then you have to use arrows in its blue (rage mode or strong) stage. So use your arrows to damage him halfway. I used this method with regular arrows. Make sure your sword is Smite 5. I did this practice fight without potions. Wither may use quick attack, use this to advantage and slash the wither. If your cornered and with wither is right next to you, run under it and do a critical hit before hiding. You shouldn’t be below half health. I hope this helped

You can also imitate this method with frost walker boots on a large ocean. Easy to dodge wither attack and not lose a lot of damage!

Thank you for explaining in such a simple way, today I tried to kill the wither with my brother, we did a lot of mistakes (we didn't saw this video nor research) and I want to tell you guys how it went and how accurate this video is :
1) The part where you will want to kill the wither in deep slave and at the bedrock level is actually better than killing it outside.
2) I really do not recommend using netherite, when I died wither exploded all my stuffs and my netherite armor is gone. I was so devastated..
3) Yes I was playing from my phone, the game got super laggy (we were at the surface, it was our first time fighting) to the point my brother turned the world to peaceful, now we're waiting to get a round 2 with the wither.
4) Armor is very important, be sure you're patient enough to enchant all the armors to be sure you're ready and has the lowest chance of dying as much as possible.
Also if you want the wither flower you can bring some animals with you and put them there when you're fighting the wither!!

I just got a stack and a half of firework rockets, an elytra, and a god sword then just fought him like Superman by hitting him and repeatedly flying past him like a bullet and continuing this higher and higher until he dies and doing this made the second phase easier and 2x quicker than the first phase when I was using a god bow and milk or totems, I also didn’t take any damage during the second phase using that method

I did a test run of my world and I did it on ground level and it was ok. The only time I died was when he went to his second stage and the explosion killed me. But I recommend a stack of golden apples. And tbh the fight was kinda easy. But if you find on ground level be prepared to fix all the holes it’s gonna make. Also funny story:
I remember the first time I tried to beat the wither and let me tell you. I got my cheeks clapped 3 times 😂 I did it before caves/cliffs and man when I died I was running to get my stuff back just for him to be tunneling all the way to the surface and clap me again. I was mad I just made a new world. But fast forward I made a wither killer in the end and it work but then it stopped working. So before it had a chance to clap me, I made a backup world and I had ptsd I was just using my elytra and hitting him with my bow and my sword. But now I’m in another world I made I’m learning to fight him with no wither killer destroying his soul for a beacon.

I have fought the wither so many times over the years and have similar stories of despair haha. In one SMP we have a wither that remains on the loose. Too many broken blocks in the area and we can’t even return to kill it or the game will crash 🤣
another neat thing you can actually do using that bow and shooting yourself with instant health arrows to avoid having to go all the way back to heal

It's just so much easier to use an automatic wither killer, the extra stuff you get beating him mormally just isn't really that much. It's all sooo much preparation when it can be done so easy

@@teenator579 it's protection that's actually putting in all the work. Netherite is only giving you less knockback when it comes to this fight.
I noticed that he still got damaged greatly by the blast. Would it be safe to say that he could go in with two blast protection gear, specifically the chestplate and leggings and two regular protection gear, which is the helmet and boots?
I think that would also work, because the most damage is done by this so it might even be better
I will say that I have beaten the wither on both Java and Windows 10 Edition with nothing but Blast Protection IV on all pieces of armor, since the wither effect is not that scary to deal with.
Would be good to experiment for sure! Perhaps I’ll make video showing proper armor sets for specific situations. Mostly it’s just Prot4, but certain situations get a big boost from the right enchant. Thanks for the comments 👍
the wither effect isn't stopped by armor and that's the real killer in these fights. Protection enchant is what makes this fight survivable to begin with.
Yeah, but the real problem is really the blast its projectiles do when making contact. I have went to the wither with just Protection IV on all pieces of diamond equipment in both early 1.12 and at 1.16 and more, which 1.16 is the time I have legitimately beat the Wither. Even still with all of the Diamond Protection IV equipment, I still easily died within the first 3 hits of the Wither. That's why around 1.16 on my third try (the second time almost had me to die by making that same mistake again), I went with all Blast Protection IV Diamond equipment with Lingering Potions of Instant Health II (that is on Bedrock Edition), and within my fourth try, the same thing without the Lingering Instant Health II, I was able to beat the wither without most problems. Also, I drank Regeneration II with Splash Potions of Instant Health II during my fourth try. (Apologies for this comment to be long).
EDIT: But yeah, just fighting it with plain armor is not, no, indefinitely not enough to beat the wither. At least 1 piece of equipment with Protection IV should be enough, at least on the helmet. You would be surprised by how much those enchantment can defend, especially how much damage one can absorb with Fire Protection III or IV on just the boots by dropping into lava.
The hardest part of the wither isn't the difficulty of it's attacks but the amount of blocks it destroys causing a lag machine
Very true. To beat it with best method, the time to kill is most important. Using the Strength II potions and smite sword and the healing II arrows is vital to a fast kill.
If you are playing on an older console you can turn tile drops off in the settings. This is also an option to eliminate lag.
For most mobile players the wither boss is impossible because of the lag. I lost a lot of good shit a few years ago and I've only watched videos about people fighting the wither and they all say it's still laggy. No reason to fight the wither in mobile honestly. The beacon effects don't even do much when you have maxed out tools and armor. The wither boss is the most unnecessary thing they've added in Minecraft honestly. Elytra and wings cancel out speeds and jumping needed so what's everyone using beacons for in the end game?
You have a good point with mobile. It’s definitely not worth attempting unless your world is backed up. I will say in next gen consoles and PC, using the wither to mine for you is the best, and most underrated strat in Minecraft right now. For diamonds, ancient debris, and deepslate. As far as beacons go, I really only ever use them for big digging projects. They save a lot of time.
Currently I have a loose whiter in my world, my problem is not really killing him or him killing me, the problem is him hiding and climbing up in a way where I have trouble seeing him and I run out of milk... might have to get nightvision potions

I lost my world because of this. The wither started following me to the safe room and broke everything. He broke so many blocks which caused so much lag so my game crashed and the world corrupted
I’m sorry for your loss! If you try again back up your world. If you are running on an older console or mobile you can disable “tile drops” in the settings and this will allow you to fight the wither lag free (but you will not profit any blocks or ores from the fight)

Thanks for the view and comment! Netherite will survive lava, but wither can blow it up in dropped form. So if wither kills you, and your armor is on the ground, it can blow it up. I’ve lost many sets in past fights.

Sooo a small thing that noone talks about is how instant healing pots can actually damage the wither and regen I'm pretty sure also kinda poisons the wither,Those guys do not bad damage and are NOT immune to the second phase so if you really want to you can use those good thing you mentioned that,Also I'm def not dying to this guy im doing hardcore in bedrock,I know hardcore doesn't exist in bedrock but I am gonna not die in this world

Oh yeah! Hope ya can make it at least to the end fighting the ender dragon, because you will be a legend to make it that far. I have not yet got there in hard mode, since I would die over and over due to a mistake I would not realize yet until it was too late.

This method kinda didn't work for me because of the unbearable lag. And my dumbass didn't even make copies, but eventually I just set my difficulty to easy and then beated it easily.
But in the future I will beat it on normal, but next time the ice method.

Can you make iron golems to help you beat the wither?
They don’t work as well in bedrock edition. But adding any mobs to the fight (even chickens) helps because the wither will lock on them for a min giving you time to attack safely.

@@Larsen_illustrations I’m playing Java for the first time and the nether is easier. Because the mobs can spawn in larger area so they are more spread out. Bedrock mobs all spawn in clumps so close it makes it crazy!
Its going take some time to re grind but hopefully this will work, I have a loose wither on my world and have lost countless god sets but the last death i dug straight down and got it to deepslate and i dont see its health so as long as i avoid mining under my base until then i think ill be ok
Oh my! A loose wither is always an adventure 😂. I know from experience that a loose wither can create too much lag from all the blocks dropped. You can turn “tile drops off” to help with that. Best of luck, comment again and let us know if you beat it!

This is huge. A great idea to scout the area out for sure. As you tunnel listen for mobs. And dig around. Generally if wither enters a big cave… bad things happen!!

I’m the only one in this comment section who failed to kill the wither 😢😢 For some stupid reason I decided to try to kill the wither on my Nintendo switch. I made a copy of the world just in case everything crashed. The wither ended up killing my friend who was helping me but I got all his important loot. Now the wither is somewhere in the tunnel I made 😢😢 Luckily I’m gonna go on my ps5 to join the world and kill the wither so I can save myself from all the lag

@@L3roy I fought him once underground while trying that bedrock trick he somehow escaped. So I had the general idea. My only issue is I'm on an old device and that's why whenever I try to fight him he creates so much havoc and there are so many blocks that my game becomes laggy and it's tough to even move.

Honestly if you can that’s a good tip! Just remember milk cancels any good potions (like strength II) you have going as well.
When I went to do the second stage the wither ended up breaking through t and it exploded all my items and my railroad track. I would strongly recommend killing it the easy way and using bedrock. It’s not worth it.

This doesn't work because the wither just works his way up away from your tunnel.
There is a bit of a learning curve to it. Couple of trouble shooting tips to help… 1-try not to spawn wither near open cave where other mobs could be (it can lock on to those and leave your area). 2- go after it if it tries to tunnel up. It will lock on to you and follow you back down. 3-defeat the first phase as fast as possible. Not a time to be timid. Get it down to 1/2 health FAST. Once it turns blue it will stay locked on to you the whole time.

@@corsicaballmapping6460 ok a couple ideas that might help! The wither only dashes 20-25 blocks at a time. So that gives you a lot of chances to kill it between dashes before it goes 500 blocks. The other thing you might have missed… if you need to regen your health you need to move very far away to unload the chunk the wither is in. If your simulation distance is very high, this distance increases. Check your simulation distance before trying it again! Good luck!

I just did the weather fight with my girlfriend and we got our asses kicked. I lost a full enchanted set of neitherite armor and used a notch apple and 6 totems

@@cacklinggasser3031 if you try again, go into settings and find “tile drops” and turn it off. This stops any blocks from dropping and you will be able to fight it with less lag! It’s still a challenging fight so be prepared. Copy your world before fighting. Good luck!

@@L3roy was my friends realm. I got it to blue, all exactly like in your video I was next to it, at this point, but then I think maybe there is another body explosion? Was on full health plus gapple, full enchanted Netherite armour, but one shot killed. Rip, my back up armour was only diamond, but i just died to wither skeletons trying to get my stuff, then respawned around 10 times doing the dash up the tunnel until eventually it got within rez distance of my bed, and with a giant corridor of block lag, it was quickly over... I msged my friend and they rolled back an hour lol. So didn't loose anything but not sure about trying again so quick 🤔😬
Oh my 😅. That is a story!! Yes when it turns blue there is an explosion that is high damage. I have died many times to this, and I should have explained it better in the tutorial! Sometimes it’s hard to avoid. Back in the developing of the strat I have also had the wither chase me back to my bed. And it destroyed everything, ender chest, block chests, bed, it was bad 😅. One question, did you have blast prot 4 on any of your armor?

Biggest issue I’ve found with this is Lava lol. The chamber filled up with lava during the fight, and I killed the wither, but I was afraid the star would fall into the lava, so I swam in lava underneath him as he died in an effort to keep the star from falling into lava, but his dying explosion killed me and I lost the nether star and all my non-netherite stuff in the process lol. Anyone have advice for not losing everything to lava?
I’ve done this same thing multiple times. So sorry! What I do now is two things, try to prevent by scouting your tunnel a bit. Avoid caves and lava pools if you can. If wither pops one on accident and lava comes in. You can reverse and lead the wither back down the tunnel other way And finish it off away from the lava. This is challenging, but definitely possible.
@@L3roy thanks! I’ll try that tonight. I read through the comments section before I did this and didn’t see anyone complain about lava so it kinda snuck up on me lol. I also didn’t know the Wither makes such a big explosion when it dies. That really was what killed me. I had good fire resistance armor and swimming in the lava for a bit was fine. It was the blast that took me out.
@@Lidstrom005 worst story I have about that. A friend died with all his best gear. And the wither was only one hit left. Instead of picking up his gear, I did the final kill shot and warden was directly over his gear. My friend returned to the fight and was one step away from picking it all up and it exploded killing him again and destroying all his stuff 😱😂😂😂

@@TheBlazing2431 I think you missed the point of the video it was to show that you can fight the wither AND when you do it at bedrock level you get a lot of bonuses such as deepslate, diamonds, etc.. The wither explodes when he changes to blue. It’s very powerful make sure to have blast protection and also just keep your distance!
