I think if they called it mallakhamb, people would take it more seriously. Unfortunately I think people have negative associations with "pole dancing" (stupidly) whereas most people have never heard of mallakhamb and may be open to watching it and learning about it.
I wish more people would recognize this as an actual sport, worthy of competition and awards

You should try looking into competitions of pole sport. There’s normally more tricks in those performances
