Last week my family and I got invited to Soul Curry, where we had the opportunity to have a bountiful spread ranging from some of the most authentic local dishes to food with a twist.

#SoulCurry served us some of their best and unique starters. Chana Jor Garam Tikki, Cheesy Chicken Kebabs and Mumbai cha Bao were some of the best that I loved.
I also loved their Kombdi Vade. The Vade were fluffed up, steaming hot and soft to touch. The chicken curry was full and flavour and spice.
The Mutton Biryani that I tasted here was on of the best that I have eaten so far.
They have experimented with theri desserts a lot whihc included mango panna cotta, paan flavoured panna cotta and mango cheesecake.

Bao belongs to Far-eastern cuisine
They are actually steamed buns. Usually buns are baked. The bao is split open and filled with meat. It is part of the Yum cha tradition.

The video is well made. It is fully description, no nonsense and no dialogues. Only the background noise is distracting, but you could do little about it. The food items are all unique. Puris with meat in a gravy is a popular combo in Bengal. But it is generally goat meat, not chicken. Why is the puri called a vada? Any major difference in ingredients?
The roti is actually a lachcha paratha. Its combination with a coconut milk based potato curry is an unique idea.
What style was the biriyani? Hope it was not the 5 star type 'assembled' biriyani. Though there is no official Maharashtrian type of biriyani (as opposed to Hyderabadi or Lucknawi) the Maharashtra Bhavan in Delhi used to do a pretty good one with typical Marathi masalas. Though personally I always prefer authentic over fusion, this restaurant is interesting and I will try it. Thanks again for a fine vlog.
