Thanks for taking me on this trip. Takes me down memory lane in the 50’s on the country bus going back To school in Kingston . Also driving myself up to the 70’s when I migrated. Last visited 2019, then Covid-19 Happened early 2020. Hope to visit later this year. Blessings. Keep safe!
Lovely scene i love the fact that you always take time out to showcase our beautiful Jamaica Island. Thank you keep up the good works love it. God bless you.
I first traveled the Junction Rd in 1980 when I was living in Kingston. Many happy memories of driving Jamaican roads, but none were more memorable than the old Junction Rd. Love your vids!!
The Junction road brings back memories of my siblings and I taking the country bus alone as children to go spend summer vacation with relatives in Highgate.Thankyou for sharing and helping to relive some of those memories.
Blessing'z with thnx to you for sharing this journey, it's a joy back then to traverse this treach of road way to Portland transporting paving asphalt, so it's a welcoming video for me.
This is my first time seeing this channel and I believe it is the best channel for seeing Jamaica by road. Love the commentary and also the periods when you just let us watch and enjoy. I had to subscribe and like. Thanks. You sound like a tour guide in real life.
Thanks and welcome. I really appreciate you love for this channel... you can also share this channel to family and friends so they can know about us. Happy holidays and all the blessings for 2022
You gotta be a brave motorist to drive on these routes though it's about skill and bravery and experience, thanks for risking your life to show us these amazing scenery brother.
This reminds me of the road from Duncans to Albert town in Trelawny through the Alphs and then to Christiana, Manchester. Regardless of how winding the road is,some still overtake. Amazing. Both trips leave you in aah. Good job. Love it.
To prevent land slide. Please plant turf builder Grass. Whenever it's time to cut grass. Please do not cut it all the way to the Root. Trim it low. Because the crass roots will hold the soil together preventing landslides. Please do what you can to maintain the roadways in your community.
Turf cannot stop the huge rocks slides after rain on the left going into Kingston . lost family members around that road . But lots green vegetables and deep drop river bed near Castleton
One thing I always said about this road is one does not need a rollercoaster ride at anywhere else than to take a drive through on this road. I have seen people get motion sickness half way through the journey. Now that the South Coast Highway Improvement Project is in full motion through St Thomas to eventually end in Port Antonio, Portland hope this alternative and the ongoing project will not come to a halt.
Excellent coverage of the Junction Road. Entirely enjoyable. I would like to suggest a little more editorial content - for example, you may want to comment on the significance of place names like Scotts Hall the maroon community, Devon Pen, the name Pen used to. denote cattle rearing during slavery. Thanks again.
Thank you very much for the video my brother. I am from Portland and I remember traveling through the junction going through Stony Hill and passing through Golden Springs Bakery. Is that bakery still there? I didn’t see you cover it or maybe you took a different route. Keep up the good work. God bless
One of the worst road Construction project in Jamaica. This Highway should have been totally redone and upgraded. The work was given to a local contractor after 4 yrs, he managed to Pave about 5 miles of road. Wasted a lot of money due to graft, nepotism and corruption between him and the local MP.. Really better if Jamaica let outsiders do all the mid size to large construction projects, Jamaican contractors are just too lazy and inept.
I bet if they gave the job to the Chinese, we wouldn't have those problems. "We" just can't seem to start a project and bring it in on time and on budget.......
This is one of the roads that the PNP built and its shocking as there was thus massive cost over run and it looks like only 10 % of work was completed. Yet no one was held accountable. The present government has to ensure that its completed. Last year the NWA had to rebuild a section of the completed portion due to break away from heavy rains. I would never in my life vote for this party as they have a history of gross mismanagement
Junction road project is a clear example of how nepotism and links staggers development in Jamaica. If an outside contractor got that job, they would’ve made this route so much more appealing and safer to drivers. Can’t wait for St Thomas to finish
I appreciate the tour though on too much of overcast day.. I never been to Mary but hopefully I will get a mini bus to rent to be able to tour Ja on my one of next visits home.
If you are talking about the road on the left to Brandon Hill here 👉 th-cam.com/video/QNm8sd4_lpk/w-d-xo.html Then Yes, It should because I went there some time ago and it was impassable... but if it is in the normal state it would take you there
I use to pass through during the first major road improvement on the junction over some 50 years ago. I think I recognise one of the many trouble spots , just where you mention the devon pen infant school by that large bridge, the road use to turn on the left, one of the worst spot on the junction ,( if this is the place I am thinking of). Thanks again for reminding us of the names of the diffrent communities.

Very dangerous road but modern construction should improve this but has not. Why? Badly and cheaply constructed. There should be a bridge at the desert before Broadgate
