    Wow! The inverter technology has changed welding processes for the better. Back in the 70’s I was on a industry tour of St. Louis shipyard they built towboats and barges and specially floating equipment. I was very impressed with with the cutting table they used to cut out Kort nozzle pieces with this table it was massive and it cut like four to six pieces at the same time and they would be identical. It used acetylene torch and oxygen. It was controlled by a computer of sorts that had and electric eye that followed a drawing of what they wanted cut out. This machine just reminded me of the technology that keeps changing the way things are done. I’m with you the fact that you got a welder with multiple processes and a plasmas cutter in it as well is really impressive. I’m surprised that our American companies haven’t come up with something of this caliber. If this keeps up an engine drive welder will be used as a power source to supply these inverters with. Your demonstration of this machine was excellent you showed just what it capable of.

    From what you just showed, Lincoln and Miller have been knocked off the stage. With the performance and price point, neither can match AC even at the full retail.
    Very, very good demo! AC should be proud to have you as their rep.

    Great video review CB!!! Great rant on Oxy acetylene dangers in a home shop!! I switched to oxygen/ propane at the home shop and mobile rig!! Wouldn't look back!! Lil slower on steel under 1 inch, but not night and day!!! Tips 2 pieces instead of 1 which means it's ezer to clean, can get propane any day of the week any where any time of day!!! Propane's much safer!!!

    That is a very tempting machine. 60% duty cycle and a two year warranty. Impressive. Also, left a tip in your paypal link, hope the fees are better than TH-cam's cut. Not sure if the yt algo gives more engagement points to super thanks or not. Have a great week!

      Thanks again for your support. And the fees are definitely better with PayPal. We don't know how the Superthanks effects the algorithm and there are many other things about the algorithm that I wish we could get answers about but TH-cam doesn't explain how it works and other sources for info on it contradict one another.
      TH-cam definitely takes a big chunk out of the Superthanks though

    • @NBSWELDING
      @NBSWELDING  12 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      The spoolgun for the MIG200 will work but an adapter needs connected to do it because they have different connections. I think the spoolgun could be adapted with both connections so that it could be used on either machine but I haven't made one yet.

    Excellent demonstration of the AC 205MP’s capabilities! Your skills are very notable as well, CB. Question: What is the duty cycle on that machine? Could it hold up under medium heavy work load? What you showed was impressive. I like a Plasma cutter that will cut 1 inch clean, but for most things a hobby welder would encounter, that 205 MP would work just fine. I think its welding capabilities are more notable than the plasma part, but man, if I didn’t already have a plasma cutter and welders, I would jump on this deal!

    • @NBSWELDING
      @NBSWELDING  14 วันที่ผ่านมา +4

      Running that cap on the 6" pipe was over two feet of non stop pulse MIG welding around 25 volts....I'd consider that heavy workload on a machine and it didn't miss a beat. I dunno anything about duty cycle ratings I just run shit hard and see what it does....I've never had an ARCCAPTAIN shutdown on me or fail to perform and I've ran my MIG200 until the coating was melting off of the cables and the leads were starting to catch on fire but it didn't stop welding.

    Nice little machine, I don't like how the regulator and water trap are rite above the power source , a good bump or hit something bad could happen.

    • @NBSWELDING
      @NBSWELDING  12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I'd say the opposite....most air regulators on the other plasmas are sticking out the back where they are much easier to damage.....the way this one is set into the cabinet makes it much more protected from impact

    great video!!! i am particularly interested in Pulse Mig on mild steel because I want to make welding overhead easier then regular mig... I actually gave up on overhead with regular Mig because it drips too much and when I have to do overhead I use fluxcore because it "freezes" much faster. Pulse Mig is supposed to solve all my problem with overhead because it has better penetration, is faster, less spatter, less cleaning nozzle, no dripping. I see you use both Arccaptain and Ssimder welder... have you compared both for Pulse Mig... especially overhead... It seams that finally price of welders with the easy to use pulse mig are becoming affordable... Miller machines with Pulse Mig cost an arm and a leg. I would love to hear your opinion on this topic... not many youtubers dicussing Pulse Mig on mild stell... most videos on Pulse are for aluminum.

    • @NBSWELDING
      @NBSWELDING  วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      MIG definitely doesn't like to cooperate on overhead and I've always struggled with it too....I should try pulse MIG overhead with the 205MP and see how it does.
      After making the 205MP video I emailed Ssimder & Decapower and ask if they wanted to send me a machine of theirs to compete with the ARCCAPTAIN and so far neither has sent me a machine.
      If you know anybody at Ssimder tell them to jump in the ring and send NBS WELDING a machine to compete....I don't get along with the guy from Decapower very good, I've emailed back anf fourth with him and I simply don't trust him.
      Flux core is definitely the king on overhead welding, DCEN makes it easy to deposit overhead.
      Thanks for watching and commenting

    • @rick076
      @rick076 3 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      @NBSWELDING ... thanks for taking the time to reply... I look forward to see a video from you on Pulse Mig Overhead. I was recommended Ssimder from a guy at a forum but I have the feeling that the Arccaptain 205MP will be better. One great info that you shared to me that is completely new is the brand Dacapower. Even though the Decapower guy is not to be trusted, I really liked the specs of the ULTRAMIG 230. I like that it is only 220v... real/strong welding requires 220v... the 4 roller feeder seams to be a great upgrade as I had problem in the past with the roller of a tooliom 250A and pretty much all chinese manufacturers use the same roller system... also I saw that both regular/single pulse and dual pulse can be implemented in both steel and aluminium... I actually only care about Steel... I am a truck driver and I have an 8 car trailer and most of my welding is done on my trailer and I have to do horizontal, vertical and overhead. If pulse mig is able to do all the things that I read about, I will pretty much retire stick weld with 7018. Stick weld with 7018 is great because of the strength but very hard for anything other then horizontal. I tried to contact both Ssimder and Decapower... lets see if I can get a hold of any of them. I saw that Decapower ULTRAMIG-230 sell on amazon. I will probably order one in the near future to test it for pulse Mig and I will let you know... I will test first on C100 and C25... my understanding is that pulse on stell requires C10 or C8 (maximum 10% co2) because it follows the same requirements as spray arc but I have seen a few guys on TH-cam running C100 and C25 and even if it is not spray and it is globular... as long as it makes it easier to weld overhead, I will be happy.

    • @rick076
      @rick076 2 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      once again... thanks for the info on the Decapower ULTRAMIG-230... I am watching a video on unboxing and testing and it seams this machine has everything that I was looking for... even the Mig gun is good... same slip-on Nozzle and Mig contact tip of a Bestarc 165A Welder that I have just purchased one week ago to replace my Tooliom 250A and so far the Bestarc 165A is the best compact size budget welder that I have used. If this Decapower ULTRAMIG-230 works as I hope, I will have found the 2 welders that I need and that I would recommend for any Newbie/ wannabe welder.

    • @NBSWELDING
      @NBSWELDING  13 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I don't pay any attention to duty cycle ratings...I run shit hard and see what it will do. I have never had an ARCCAPTAIN machine shutdown on me.
      I ran pulse MIG with the 205MP at 27 volts to cap 6" pipe rolling on the welding positioner non stop all the way around so that is over two feet of non stop heavy welding at high voltage....it never missed a beat.
      I burned 3/16" 7014 rods on an I-beam one after another with my MIG200 until the coating was melting off the welding leads and the cables were about to catch on fire....it never stopped welding.

    Good review. I purchased a MIG200 because of your previous review. The MP205 does seem to be a very capable machine, & having the ability to plasma cut would be fantastic. Two questions/things I'm curious of:
    -What is the max amperage of the MP205 (and does it truly produce what the screen reads)?
    -I've asked before (relative to the Cut55 I think), can you plasma gouge with this machine, or does that require tips/attachments that aren't available?
    Thanks!

    • @NBSWELDING
      @NBSWELDING  13 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Max amps is 205 but I can tell you that it's welding like it's way hotter than my MIG200.
      It takes all my MIG200 has to burn 3/16" 7014's but this MIG205MP runs the 1/4" 7024 with no problem.....the 1/4" 7024 is waayyyyy more rod by a long shot.
      The numbers on the screens don't mean much to me other than being a guide as you make adjustments.

    • @NBSWELDING
      @NBSWELDING  13 วันที่ผ่านมา

      O-and as far as I'm concerned any plasma will gouge....just adjust down the heat and air pressure to make it do whatever ya want

  • @michaelbigelow367

    I Just watched the video again and I was wanting to know why you used 7014 for your cap rather than 7018 C.B.? Was it because you were down handing it? Thx C.B

    • @NBSWELDING
      @NBSWELDING  13 วันที่ผ่านมา

      7014 has iron powder in the flux that becomes weld when you use it and that is the feature that makes it a high deposit rod.
      In other words a 1/8" 7014 will add more weld metal deposit per rod than a 7018 and travel speed is also higher....thay just get more work done in less time.
      7018 is superior in elasticity and crack resistance especially when dissimilar metals or hardened steel is being welded but on mild steel there aren't much differences in strength.....especially on a cover pass which really don't do much besides make a weld finished and attractive.

      @NBSWELDING this is the welder I was talking about in a video I commented on that I said I put a velocity2 spray master 250 mig gun on it it makes it even better I have a good friend who got me mine he's a arc captian aff as well but I love ur videos ty I've learned alot oh yea put the graphine linner in it and mig aluminum cause I thing you will find is the port on the machine is 5 pin and the spool gun is 4 I wired a 5 pin on my spool gun so I can use it now but it does mig weld aluminum very well with the linner put in ty cb

      I'm dying to MIG aluminum with that pulse....ran out of time but I want to get back to that at some point.
      Also need to get a Teflon liner and leave it in one of my guns now that I have several guns.
      I got the connector that I can put on my spoolgun to make it work with this machine but then it won't work on the MIG200...ARCCAPTAIN told me they would send me a spoolgun for the 205MP as soon as those come out so I might just wait....if they send me one for the 205 then I can leave the one for the 200 operational for that and each machine will have its own spoolgun.

      @NBSWELDING it runs aluminum very well I used the gun that came with it to run aluminum mine came with a graphine linner in the box I did a job on a house boat replacing the rail and it was awesome I even ran 4043 thru it no problem wat so ever this welder really surprised me but again ty for ur content it helps me alot I like how u really explain wat ur doing down to every detail I've been welding for about 8 years and about 1 year ago I went out on my own it's a little Rocky at times but I seem to make it thru I turn to ur videos alot and learn things all the time I'm in somerset ky alot of marina's and aluminum work farms and stuff can't wait to see u do some aluminum with the machine ty cb have a good day

    If you were to show me those stick welding coupons without me seeing that you were using that electric arc welder I would have swore you ran that on your commander 300 but I saw it my mind is blown also I would have if I hadn't seen it swore that was ran with an Shield arc 250 or a Sam 400 that's impressive

    Shes a BEAST! 650 bucks for such potential?! Payed 450 for my bester by licoln 180 and ive tried a lot, but looking at this i dont think there is comparison! And that with plasma included😮‍💨 might trade in my machine for this beauty when i got some moneh saved up, been needing a plasma for a while now

    Great looking machine. Do you think this one beats a new generation Miller / Lincoln electric ? I mean the price speaks for itself, but that is China...

    • @NBSWELDING
      @NBSWELDING  13 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Sorry I can't really answer...I haven't welded with any brand new Miller or Lincoln machines and I can't afford to buy one....pretty sure Lincoln or Miller isn't gonna send me one for free to do a review on....and I wouldn't compare something that costs several thousand dollars to something you can get for a couple hundred bucks anyway

    • @NBSWELDING
      @NBSWELDING  13 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I tell everyone....if you can afford a Miller, Lincoln, or ESAB then you should buy one.
      ARCCAPTAIN products aren't marketed towards people who are fortunate enough to buy without considering cost.

    Why didn't you run the 7018 up hill

    • @NBSWELDING
      @NBSWELDING  13 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Is there anything reason why that would need done?....7018 uphill is ran on lower amps....I never considered uphill 7018 as a good way to test arc performance

    Is it a pilot arc plasma cutter?

    • @NBSWELDING
      @NBSWELDING  13 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I don't know if it's considered pilot arc...the the plasma torch connects to the same port as the TIG torch and it has high frequency so it may be using the high frequency to start the plasma.

    • @NBSWELDING
      @NBSWELDING  4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Looking into it more I think the plasma requires contact to start cutting...I cut quite a bit with it by hand motion and on a straight edge and had no issue but I'm pretty sure it's not pilot arc.
      Sorry it took so long to get back to ya...I'm sharing as I learn but gotta keep pressure on work & such also.
      Thanks for watching and commenting...stay in touch

    Can you hook a pedal to it for tig? Great Video CB

    • @NBSWELDING
      @NBSWELDING  13 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Right now I don't know....sorry I can't answer that...I haven't got that far with it and I almost never use DC TIG so it's kinda the last thing I'd see....I do know it has high frequency for TIG but it didn't come with a petal.....that's all I know at this time

      I emailed ARCCAPTAIN and checked....the 205MP is compatible with the same GEN2 footpetal that the TIG200P takes.
      That's good news that it has foot petal capability but the great thing for me is I already have one because I have a TIG200P that I AC TIG aluminum with. I don't have much use for DC TIG but nice to know the 205MP takes that foot pedal that I already have.

    What is pulse mig

    • @NBSWELDING
      @NBSWELDING  14 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      Weld voltage pulses.....so instead of welding with 20 volts the heat pulses between 15 volts and 25 volts so fast you cannot even see it.
      Pulse welding allows you to run crazy high heat without overheating the material
