@@bpw102896 Well I was kind of mad this went under my radar. Didn't know the dlc hit jumped into the game and seen all this new stuff. Yup they really should be getting a lot more this game is by far the best game.

Been ages since I played this game, thanks for reminding me of it. Although god knows when I'll have time to get to it, my list of games to play only ever grows larger.
Thanks for showing this off, I picked it up a while ago to support the devs but this video has given me the motivation to finally jump in. Have a great week!
One of my favorite strategies back in the day was to build a defensive tower in each of my cities that scraped the sky, was HEAVILY armored, and very well stocked with ammo. Once I was properly turtled, I'd send in the flame-throwing spider walkers lol.
I highly recommend this game to anyone considering it, its fantastic and has good mod support, and I'm confident the dev will continue supporting it for years
The one thing I wish this game had, is Villages and Hamlets. It does big Military Installations, large cities, and capitols well on the map, but I wish it had some small villages and peasant settlements on the map as well. Like places you can fly or roll over or around, and that can be strategic points due to terrain or placement on the map, but that are minor population centers with no Military bases or airfirelds or the like by default, but that can have such facilities placed later in the game, and that require you the player, and the other factions, to sink money and resources in to defend, to uphold, and to maintain to keep the happiness of your citizens up and to increase the size and strength of your military, and that if you take care of them your morale of your country goes up, but if you treat them poorly your morale can go down sure, but you can also commit to psy-ops and propaganda campaigns that can lie to and bamboozle the citizens and convince them of stuff like other places having it worse than them and the world as a whole is in dire straights so they should be happy they'te not the next country over, even if your country is the most impoverished, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera. Basically, I would like to see this game add an element of Civilians in Warfare to it, so that it's not just "Army A, attack Army B", but there is a tangible Social and Political aspect to it that you can control and see and feel and hear. There should be small villages and hamlets on the map that you can bypass and take them over individually to incrementally overtake a country and demoralize and deplete a much larger and more powerful nation's forces, or if you take their capitol and capture their government intact or unalive off their leadership then the whole thing falls and the little villages and hamlets can revolt or follow the fall of their nation and join you either willingly as their liberators, or begrudgingly as their conquerors, or falsely as their new dictators, and it will depend more and more on how you take them over. Show the people benevolence and take them over gently, and this increases the chance they'll join you willingly. Show them harshness and brutality by overtaking them brutally and they may just outright revolt en masse and all you've taken is the capitol as they still have small militia forces near them, ot they break into small separate village conglomerate nation states you then have to go crush the rebellion of in. And if you fail to capture or destroy all of their politicos and leadership members, they may sneak them out to some smaller place and hide and fortify that regime in secret and rebel suddenly at some point in the future! And anothet thing is the villages would show up as targetable physical structures in a battle map as well, so that if you happen to meet an army in the space over and around a given village, it is entirely possible the village can be damaged and peasants lives lost. This can affect morale, political dynamics, the willingness of your forces to fight harder for you if you don't do everything you can to stop people from getting hurt, etcetera. Or you can raze and village to the ground as a show of force or as an abject lesson... or simply as an exterminat¡○n protocol of your nation's enemies if you dislike them that much. And they can do all those same things too, so you have to be careful of that as well! For example if the enemy goes on a rampage and obliterates multiple villages, it may demoralize ship crews and make them slower or less likely to man their posts. If you protect a village from destruction though it may boost morale and make your ship crews work faster and harder. If you go through a neighboring nation of poor peasants and take them over one village at a time, they might hate your forces at first, but then you start building fortresses and keeps and bunkers for them to run to and be protected in, and if you build them farmlands and housing and businesses and sanitation and hospitals they become happier and more of them commit to joining the armed forces, and more babies are born bolstering the size of your fighting forces and fleet crewmen. What I'd love to see in this game, is more public dynamics, political intrugue, small population centers being part of the game play formula, and more granularity of map and people and morale dynamics.
Splattistan, yeez... you silly man, half my attention was missed on trying not to laugh now and then. This game is great, might not look nice but it's packed with love code. I'll keep my eyes on it and try it whenever I can!
Hey Splattercat thank you for covering this gem, I am looking for games like this and then you mix in influence other factions aspect and you have basically my dream game!
I like the art style and battle system, it's pretty neat. It seems a bit daunting with regards to depth of customization, but I really like the overall concept a lot. It doesn't actually seem difficult to learn or play.
Looks like a great game! Very in depth. Reminds of ultimate admiral dreadnoughts, only the campaign system isn't shit. Nice to see it on GOG, hopefully the DLC makes it there too.
I see you got that Content Creator Early Access, not that im complaining. This Expansion comes out on the 20th of July which is 2 days from now. Other then that Airships Conquer the Skies has changed with the Diplomacy update a few years back. Its Amazing what adding diplomacy did for what was essentially a free for all. We got NEW TECHS, a Supply system, Diplomacy, Improving towns and cities with buildings. And its only 25 dollars, that's a Bergin for what you get. And soon, the HEROS and VILLENS of the Airships world in a Expansion.
I like the campaign/risk styled map...always adds a bit of progressive narration to the events happening in game. The push and pull of all those varying nations.
You are underestimating the suspendium blimps. They are not armored and are very exposed to damage, but as far as blowing up and destroying everything goes they are actually quite safe and easy to contain. I've built a heavy combat ship around several large suspendium tanks separated by ladders and moved by sails, had them easily take around 400-500 ammo in cannon and light sponson hits without being destroyed or even losing any combat effectiveness. The ship did get immobilized, but it took a long time. Coal is super flammable and everything other than the blimp blows up like a bomb. The suspendium chambers also require crew. Yea they are much better armoured, but it sure is expensive.
If you ever plan to revisit the game, I recommend you to build your own ships, as the prebuilt ones are mostly garbage. Then, when a game starts, try to get a many dissident scholars, brigands, heretics, or crashed wasp/bee nests for early game research and money. Then, be aggressive early game. Don’t wait for spies to reach level 30 and just attack whoever has the smallest ships and weakest defensive buildings.
I remember, i just blasted the entire map, conqered everything in my first playthrough. I wasn't really motivated to replay it. I remember , I used around 15 types of ships untill I researched rockets...or misiles, don't remembe r exactly. Perhaps now I'll give it a new try.
I played this game for some time and I really want to play with ground vehicles, but sadly, the enemies always float right above me and crush my vehicles when they die. I'll probably give the game a try again
@@QuotidianStupidity there's already a mod out there that both increase the map and add more AI. But yknow, there's a reason why the base game has a set size for the map. Also, would recommend playing on at least hard instead for challenge rather than playing on bigger map. Simply it's less tedious to defend and keep track of.
this game is honestly a 10/10 and deserves way more attention.

Good to know. One thing that always surprised me about this title was how quickly and effectively the AI could counter your strategies.
