Can’t thank you enough for this video… The two lcd screen films on my SL55 are shot and I was quoted $800 to get them repaired….. Was almost ready to pay up until I seen this video.
I only have one question for you How many degrees is that ?? I found 0.17mm thickness But the degrees is like 45-180 The link u mentioned it's not clear But it feels like 360d
@@mikemoreau7084 I just orders 145 degrees From Ali express Because ur link with shipping to dubai will coast around 40$ while I got it for 10$ only Once I get em I'll update you on how I did it And by the way I have the same issue with the polorize on the infotainment screen The polorize is faded I'll also try to fix it and update you in here because I don't like after market screens on a sexy Mercedes 😂 Love you brother Really u saved me a 200$ for the screen and another 200$ for the cluster
@@mikemoreau7084 hey Mike I tried to do the same I was wondering if u did remove the back of the screen film too ? In my case I found out that the screen got two films Once in the front The other in the back ?? I'm just trying to make sure because when I put the screen back to the cluster it's still white 😅😅 I think I ordered a wrong film though 😆
Hopefully you got it figured out. If it is still white, yes, you got the wrong film. There was no film on the back of mine, just the front. Let me know how it worked, sorry for the late reply.
Thank you. That was a great help.I've been trying to figure out what I'm gonna do about my l.E!D's, that's a great video partner.Keep up the good work l.D
Thanks for walking us through this, I do have a question, my unit works, but I can't see the speedometer ring in the day light.to dim even with bright turned all the way up ???
Thanks for video very well done. Do you have exact part number or specs for polarized sheet? Bought from Amazon. $14. I thought I had it, did all steps as described. No matter how much I turned sheet, it was OK in garage not in sun light.. any additional help is greatly appreciated.
I don’t have the part number, also not sure if they changed the product from my post 2 years ago. Sorry yours did not work out, perhaps try another brand???
Hey Mike, thanks. Anyway, I removed the film but some glue/sticky film remained on the screen. Any suggestions how to completely remove it (without scratching the screen)? Thanks!
I am beyond impressed with you, good job, I am going to review review watch and watch, so I can get this down pat, thank you. Only 50,000 miles and you had that problem, what do you think caused it?,
I thinks a common problem with polarized film on LCDs, just old age. I did some research and 90s and 2000s Corvettes have the same issue with their dash gauges.
Hey Mike, after doing this and reconnecting, the display emits light, but everything is a blank black screen. No temp or anything else that would be displaying information. If any had this issue please help me out, thanks
Does your vessel covering the speedo and the tach. just pull straight out or is there a trick to taking it out without breaking the clips? Any screws? It just looks like you just pulled it straight out, if so why did the clips break? Do you need to pull it out in certain angles? Appreciate if anybody knows, great job on the video, once again I’m very impressed
