I got to see them touring this album on the 2005 Ozzfest. I had no idea who they were but they came out in front of a sea of diehard metal fans and within minutes had won over the crowd including myself.
Remember, this was a lineup that included the likes of Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Black Label Society, Shadows Fall, In Flames, Mudvayne, Killswitch Engage, Mastodon, Trivium, Soilwork, Arch Enemy, As I Lay Dying, The Haunted, Black Dahlia Murder and Rob Zombie. To gain respect in a crowd that diverse is phenomenal and speaks volumes

This is a call to arms
For all those who recognize romance as,

This band was at the center of my later high school years. They were incredibly talented and unique in a hugely saturated genre. Also, as good and heavy as "The Caitiff Choir" is, "Sirens" is still a criminally underrated record.
With that said, knowing that this video was directed by Darren Doane, the same chode who directed and starred in "Kirk Cameron's Saving Christmas", is absolutely hilarious in hindsight.

@@Vinnay94 Well that's the 200s Metalcore scene with Shadows Fall, Unearth, God Forbid and Darkest Hour. Those are some of the big metalcore bands that are influenced by At The Gates. At least some of them. All before the metalcore scene of today.

I really like the earlier stuff back when we could book them for hall shows.

Alas, here is your serenade my darling
That leaves you speechless and weak.
May it teach you how to feel,
    May it remedy your heartlessness,
And may your cries not interrupt this swansong.
    [chorus:]
This is a call to arms
For all those who recognize romance as,
    As a dying scene, who'll take it to their graves;
This is a call to arms
For all who hold this sacrament close,
    May our hearts burn on.
    How dare you weep,
For it's insincerity that trickles down your face.
Alas, here is your serenade my darling.
And oh, what a long time coming it has been.
This cruel lullaby that shall plague your dreams
And carry me towards enforced revolution.
    [chorus]
I'll sing for you the threnody of modern romance.
    [chorus]
