I volunteer at a shelter. People surrender dogs all the time. Dropping a puppy off in a residential neighborhood is not the right way to rid yourself of a puppy that you apparently do not want. The puppy could have been hit by traffic, She could have been injured or spooked and wandered into a wooded area and starved to death. She was scared and alone. Anything could have happened.
I volunteer for a no kill shelter as well. And we Are constantly telling the public to Surrender their pets to our shelter if they no longer able to keep them. We won’t judge as long as an animal is in our hands for safety reasons. I’m sure there are millions of shelters around this country that does the same exact thing. Why This lady decided to dump this poor little puppy off the side of the road is beyond me. I seriously don’t get it.

A friend of mine lives out in the country, near a local park. Her family rescues 5-6 dogs annually that are dumped near her property. She has gotten enough partial license plates & descriptions to turn a few of them in to law enforcement. Her 3 dogs (& 2 of her cats) right now were ALL dumped in the area & 2 of them are purebred. The Great Pyrenees that she rescued, keeps the coyotes away from her property & animals.
What a beautiful dog and I am happy she found a home already. Shame on that woman. I love dogs but I can't afford to have one. The people that have dogs you are very blessed to have a dog. Thank God, it was a happy ending.

Sad. I was at work one night, a car drove thru the parking lot and threw a cat out the window. He was the friendliest kitten I ever seen. 6 months old tops, box trained, everything. I took him home, gave him to my buddy that was looking for a cat. He had him 18 years. People don't understand most abandoned animals do NOT find a home, they get hit by cars or eaten by predators. Coyote's are common where I live, that kitten would have been dead in less than 24 hours.
