I'm happy that you can still LOVE on someone who is not vegan. I know many talk about how they never could...that really rubs me the wrong way and makes me sad. People from different walks of life marry all the time...how is this different? Not that I'm mad at those people ,like they have right to be with who they want.

To offer another perspective, when I started looking into veganism and such I educated not only myself but my partner. I am one of those people who couldn't see our relationship moving ahead if he was not vegan. It primarily comes from the lack of reasoning behind harming animals for taste. I have to be with someone who is at least somewhat on my level and I feel like if someone knows all that I know and still chooses to participate, I lose a lot of respect. I know the majority of the world doesn't know what I know so I understand why people aren't vegan, but for me, I have yet to hear a logical argument against veganism done right.

    • @positivekarolina1260

@@nicolepapole it is hard to give up relationship purely for this reason, and then even if you partner is omni, if he supports you and tries his own best, why even consider it. The person might be so amazing and loving, on the other hand a vegan partner doesn't mean you will have an amazing relationship apart from both being vegan. Then where is guarantee your vegan partner would stay vegan for ever. If course it might be hard at first, but along the years adjustments and changes will most likely happen
      There i

@@positivekarolina1260 I 100% see where you come from. It certainly wouldn't be easy. I went vegan 11 years and 3 children into my partnership. I think it would be very hard to have a deep level of respect for him if he knew what happened and chose not to exclude himself. Body odor changes as well and other intimacy issues would arise. I don't think it's for everyone and I try my best not to judge others but for me and my personal relationship I couldn't partner up with someone eating animals. Thankfully he listened and watched and we both became vegan slowly (as well as our children) and he's been vegan as long as me, I think maybe even a day or two before as I finished up some butter we had opened.

I think that really depends. Me and my husband have become vegan together after about 3 - 4 years of being together so even if he didn’t become vegan with me I wouldn’t just say bye 👋🏼 as I love him beyond anything however if it was one of my previous relationships it could be playing a big part in break-up as I really didn’t have such deep connection with them as I do with my husband. Also if anything happened and I would find myself looking for a new relationship I have to admit I would find it really hard building a relationship and eventually living with someone who isn’t vegan as although I started because of the health benefits I am in it for the ethics now as well which is pretty sensitive topic. My husband had an amazing idea the other day on developing a vegan dating app 😂 maybe that’s the future for the single vegans out there lol

    • @nicolepapole
      @nicolepapole 5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

@@amandaevans879 Is it just food choice though? Or is it a deep ethical value that is an integral woven peace of all that it means to be a human being and the choices we make within?
Note that I am not saying you're wrong or that people who aren't vegan are any less than a vegan, this is just my personal standpoint within my own life and relationship and how I feel certain things are deal breakers regardless.

    Hey Hannah,
*SUPER* random, but I wanted to mention a crazy story about vaguely recognizing you online, only to realize we met seven years ago in Thailand!
There I was, searching for YT content re: healthy/plant based eating, and I found your channel. Immediately I thought, "Wow, this girl looks so familiar. Do I know her? Where from? But she's from CA and I'm from the midwest so I have no clue how I would..."
Then it hit me -- "OMFG I think she and her husband hung out with a group of my friends in Bangkok when they were on their honeymoon!" You might not remember (and I could be wrong), but I think the mutual friend was Nick who went to HS with you or your husband? It was the Loi Krathong holiday, so around November, and I think this would have been circa 2012. Random, I know, but I thought I'd share how incredibly small this world can be. I remember you giving me some very good advice about veganism when I mentioned flirting with becoming a vegetarian :)
    Keep up the phenomenal work!

Hey Hannah! I'm in Optometry school so I am bias but any eye related issues you should go to an Optometrist, not a Dermatologist (even though this is a skin issue, it is close to our eye which is our specialty). It could be one of a couple things: internal hordeolum, external hordeolum (commonly termed a stye), or a chalazion. The key in treatment is determining if it is infectious or not (i.e. if there is pain). No matter what a great place to start is with warm compresses (I recommend a for a minimum of 5 minutes and rewarm the cloth if it cools down in that time) and a lid massage. If things aren't resolving you can always go to a topical or oral antibiotic. Steroids are an absolute last resort here. Hope this is insightful! Eyes are fun!

Congrats on the website, Hannah! It's so simple and so you. Those breakfast tacos and spring rolls looked so bomb! When my husband and I first went vegan in 2005, we used to do papas con "huevo" breakfast burritos with tofu scramble, spinach, avocado, and salsa, mmmmm! It's straight outta my childhood! It's been awhile so thanks for the inspo to make these again. Yours were so extra!

Hey Hannah!!! The bump under your eye is called a "stye". Make sure that you treat it right away, otherwise it WILL get bigger and a lot worse (speaking from personal experience). If you had it longer than a week, go to the doctor so they can treat you.

I work in an ophthalmology surgical center. That is a stye. It’s self treatable. Warm compress twice a day. You can see an optometrist if it really creates a lot of discomfort. Antibiotics drops help. ( ofloxacin, polytrim, zymaxid ,etc) It usually goes away in a week or so. But have it checked if you can.

    "sulfur salt"
Black salt is the best, especially if you came from eating eggs.
Making a "foo" vegan chicken salad with slightly broken up chickpeas, mostly smashed avocado and then adding veggies of choice along with black salt - the avocado when left a bit chunky when combined with the black salt takes your brain and taste buds back to the real deal for those time when a new vegan is missing old habits or for when you are trying to show someone that all plants and no meat can taste great and you don't need any animal products.

I've been vegan since Dec. 2016, but my husband isn't vegan either. He loves vegan food and pretty much eats whatever I make for dinner etc. I'm glad you can show what it's like to be vegan, and married to a non-vegan. One thing my husband loves is Gardein veggie ground so I usually make him pastas, casseroles, or tacos with it at least once a week or so, but he loves lots of the same veggies I do so when I don't use any processed foods, he still enjoys it! Congrats on your website as well. I started my food blog last year in September. It was such a good thing I did, because it's always been one of the many things I've wanted to do. Thanks again !

It's pink eye... slice a potatoe .. use one half to put on your eye once the inside of the potatoe gets black throw it away (when it turns black it means it took out all the swelling from your eye). Btw the other half goes in the freezer ... once the other goes black take out the one in the freezer place it over your eye so it helps the swelling go down by the next day your eye should be healed. (Its a Mexican thing).

You are awesome. I don't even know where to begin. First. Congratulations on the website. That's a big accomplishment. May you have much success using it. Second... the food. I can't even single one thing out... you move pretty fast, and put a lot of content in one video, which I admire and enjoy. I will slow it all down and try to copy some of the ideas... so yum! Some are similar to what I do, but yours just look so delish. Also, I've been taking pictures of your hair. It's very cute and natural. I've been trying to grow mine to be similar and every time I go for a trim, it gets botched up, so hope the pictures help... longer version like now, or shorter... both are very cool. I am older and my hair is gray. A very pretty gray, but I think that hair dressers think (my conjecture) that older women wouldn't want a contemporary cut... Everybody's hair is different but, I just don't get it. Hope it's ok. I'm going to have to grow it out for a while now, before I can get it cut right.. Love the video. Thanks for letting us peek into your life. Very inspiring.

Stye? Warm compress works. Put some raw rice into a clean sock and pop it in the marowave.

I tried the spring rolls! They were amazing! I used soy sauce as a dipping sauce though because I don’t like peanut sauce

I Love this so much! I am a runner and am wondering how you balance your calorie intake with activity level. Do you still feel energized and maintain a healthy weight? I really want to become a high carb vegan, but don't know how to do it healthfully :)

I know this isnt related, but I would love to hear your thoughts on sunscreen. I know youve mentioned it super briefly in an old video but I would love to hear what you do or maybe even with your niece and nephews how they stay safe in the sun without overloading on sunscreen
