This guy should be careful with this credit thing else he will quickly get into debt that he cannot pay. You don’t just get given a car or a house because you have built credit. Your income and expenses is a huge part of your credit analysis that determines if you can get a car loan or a mortgage to buy a house and then how much you will qualify for. If he is encountering danger/ gun shots on his neighbourhood streets then you know he is living in a bad neighbourhood for less rent cost. There are better areas in New York City but his monthly pay may not get him even a tiny studio.

I think the guy made an innocent error on the credit score. Also depending on how much you owe, u can make the minimum payment or pay the borrowed amount before the due date. Most credit facilities have a turn around time of 25 days. Of course don’t forget about interest on the amount borrowed. The major difference in America is the rich collect ASSETS (real estate, stocks, investments) & the poor collect LIABILITIES (cars, home mortgage, paying rent, jewelry, fancy clothes). In my opinion Columbus is a better place than New York City. Some may differ. Lived in America 50 plus years.

@@ewurama8768 Home mortgage is if u own a home & make monthly payments for the loan typically in America for 30 years. It is also real estate. What I meant in my post was individual or groups who own homes that they rent or commercial buildings, apartments, storage rentals, RV (Recreational Vehicle) parks, etc. These investors or companies are the ones running America today.

850 is the highest I am at 750 finger crossed I bought a car through my bank made payments for a year and paid it off my credit jumped..

DJ, it’s obvious this guy doesn’t know how credit works in America. You should get someone to educate the Ghanaian community here on how credit score and credit system works. It will help. The 500 he said he went to put down is what we call secure credit card. Normally it’s a means that people use to start building credit. But there are other ways.

Also use a credit card that offers cash reward benefits. In that way as you spend, you get rewarded. You also pay all your balance at the end of your statement balance period, to avoid paying inyerest
