Sir if we are rejecting NULL hypothesis then there should not be any diff. Between population parameter And sample statistics So why you said there is diff. Due to sample fluctuation ???
Hi Gaurav, thank you so much for this video. One thing is not clear- in the second example we found the |Z| = 4, so it is falling on the right side rejection area. For this we rejected the null hypothesis but the alternate hypothesis which claims about average life time greater than 1600 hours should also be rejected. This is because the probability of 1600 hours itself is very small, any value greater than 1600 will have far smaller probability. In the curve it will be further right in the rejection area. I think either both of the hypothesis should be rejected or the alternate hypothesis should say - average of population is less than 1600 hours. Please clarify.
Because in standard normal table ( Z table) Negative value define area on left side of mean and positive value define area right side of mean. Standard Normal curve is symmetrical about mean. So value Z= -4 define area is on left side of mean and same area lies on right side of mean. Please check video of Normal Distribution of mine in Probability playlist. Hope it will help you

sir, ye question samajh nai aa raha: Individual filing of income tax returns prior to 30 June had an average refund of Rs 1200. Consider the population of "last minute" filers who file their returns during the last week of June. For a random sample of 400 individuals who filed a return between 25 and 30 June, the sample mean refund was Rs 1054 and the sample standard deviation was Rs 1600. Using 5 % LOS, test the belief that the individuals who wait until the last week of June to file their returns to get a higher refund than early the filers?

If degree of freedom is n-1 ie 14-1 is 13 then at 5 % sig is 1.96 but in book it is showing 1.771 how it is calculated plz slove
Bro sample size is greater than 30 so we can't use degree of freedom here if sample size is less than 30 so we can use degree of freedom.

sir, ye question samajh nai aa raha: Individual filing of income tax returns prior to 30 June had an average refund of Rs 1200.
Sir our teacher told us not to take mod value in cases of one tailed tests. Can you please explain why you are using mod in one tailed tests?
Because in standard normal table ( Z table)
Negative value define area on left side of mean and positive value define area right side of mean.
Standard Normal curve is symmetrical about mean.
So value Z= -4 define area is on left side of mean and same area lies on right side of mean.

@@GouravManjrekar But in this we will always reject a null hypothesis even when its true
Sir can z test is applicable for pre and post test
Sir critical values z test m jo table apne banaya Hai wo sari values yad rakhni pare gi? Ya unka koi method Hai k ham unhe find out kr skte hai?
sir can you please explain how did you get the values in the critical table??
Standard normal table and you can find it in any statistics book.

Sir in second problm it is one tailed test then -4 is less than 2.33 then y null hypothesis is rejected im confused sir
Because value of z is always positive
So we write | z| = 4.
@@explorerspoint6885 in given table z value has negative values also
Here test is Right tailed test.
So Z should be positive.
@@explorerspoint6885 negative value lies left side( left tail) then there is no problem y should we reject it.the value is not in right tail

Sir how to determine value of alpha , if alpha is not given in the question?
By default you can take alpha =0.05.

Sir I can't find value of z = 1.96 at 0.475 on z score table 😢
i will upload a video soon for these
Just one question, in case of a left tailed test, if mod z is greater than critical z shall we also reject the null hypothesis?and Thanks a lot for the lectures sir!
Yes
Excellent Sir. please arrange some classes on Survival Analysis
Hi i have a doubt , if we do a left tailed test, then Z(alpha) is always negative and modZ is always positive, so in left tailed test , is the hypothesis always rejected
