That’s awesome, my first drill was the black and decker matrix. The wife got me a new attachment for Christmas and birthdays ever year, ( we were poor) , had no idea that modular concept started so far back..
Oh hi Michael sorry for the late reply my friend I feel dreadful!, that’s an awesome story sir and I appreciate you telling me it,Christmas and birthday are for getting new tools definitely, thanks for your support 🤟🤟
Strangely, I inherited my dad's power tools. Exact same! Can't get saw attachment to screw onto drive as, when friction on bolt kicks in, motor turns. Any clues?
@@UKTOOLTALK Thanks. Put a dusting of graphite on threads but still turns before I can get it really tight. Odd really - my Dremel has a button that locks the output shaft so you can tighten stuff.
Iv just been into the workshop to try and get the blade tight and yes it is a problem,I got it the tightest by keeping the blade from moving with a screwdriver through the hole in the blade and then tightening it up really slowly, I got it quite tight and I don’t think it slipped when I tryd it out cutting a bit of wood, all black and decker needed to do was extend the spindle as it comes out of the drill body and put 2 flats on to get a spanner on but they didn’t for some reason, makita drills from the 90”s used to have this feature to change the chuck but they got rid of this feature on newer drills,it’s old technology I guess and some of the design elements are really good and some are not so good, I guess I haven’t given you a solution really for which I’m sorry, if I figure out a solution I’ll be sure to let you know sir 🤟🤟
@@UKTOOLTALK thanks for that... I noticed the thread on the bolt was a bit mucky but can't find a nut to fit so the thread gets cleaned out. I imagine it's imperial, prob half inch. A bit of a design fault by B AND D then! I can get it tight to a point and it works on v soft wood but as soon as I hut a knot the saw stops but motor keeps running. A key in the chuck mount and saw disc would've sorted it! Thanks again.
@@DaveInBridport I have the same drill and attachments, not used the circular saw since the 1980s, same problem as you had, I fixed it with a rubber washer under the metal one, just filled the space nicely. Last time I used it I had it all assembled in minutes. Too late late for you but may help someone else
I just bought one of these, five euros without any of the accessories but did come with a nice wooden carry case. The warranty card from the shop is was filled out in 1969.
Oh hi Kyle cool buy!! I must get on with doing the other videos about the accessories that go with the drill!, if you watch my channel regularly it becomes apparent that I get distracted easily 🤪
Oh hi Ronny again sorry for the late reply friend, sounds awesome about your corded makita drill,as you’ve probably discovered I’m turning into a makita hoarder,I get stuff to sell on and then can’t part with it!!, cheers Ronny 🤟🤟
I bought the same drill in 1976, I have the circular saw and sander attachments. The price on the saw box is £3.95, I dug it out the other day as I have lots of wood that needs cutting up

@@UKTOOLTALK you don’t need to apologise Jon! Blades are for jig saws, recip saws or Stanley knifes, discs are for disc cutters, angle grinders, circular saws and anything that’s circular or disc shape, it can be whatever you want! I call them what ever I feel like on the day. And if I can’t think of any name it’s a “doobry ferckin”
All very state of the art in 1975! Quite amazing that the actual mechanics haven't really changed too much since then
Seriously enjoyed this. Took me back to happy days with my dad. Nicely done mate……I feared for your fingers at one point though😂✌️

Beautiful drill and kit! I recently bought an old Makita corded drill in a nice metal box. I will probably never find a good use for it though. :)
