You wouldn’t have the lower shelf, but attach the legs with carriage bolts. I just did this to mine not long ago. There are a few good plans for it and videos if you do a search.

I loved this! The basic tool series will be awesome. I’d like to see more shop builds this way since I’m just setting up a new garage. Miter station, router table, etc. a kitchen table with basic tools and maybe even a 3 levels of kitchen table and chairs build with basic tools would be cool. I know in the podcasts you said the crazy epoxy builds perform better, but I like to see these instructional and shop build videos more myself

Very new woodworker here and was excited to see your design looked very similar to what I built this summer. My jaw dropped when you had the same reaction I did with the 49x97 for the MDF and I had to stop the video when you stepped on the sheet to fit it in place and broke the corner in the exact same place mine did when I stepped on it to fit! Glad to know I’m not alone!

I've been using something almost exactly (4' x 8') like that for the last 20 years (but without the wheels). However, as my tool collection has grown, I've run out of room and now need to rip this workbench down. The wheels are a super sweet idea. I LOVE the wheels on yours! Now, I think I'm making two smaller tables, one stationary and one with wheels. I'll keep the two together, but pull the one on wheels out when I need that 8' run. I've got a lot to think about on a Sunday morning...with the football kickoff clock rolling. Thanx guys!

    Build ideas:
    - tool storage/ charging station combo (update from your original video and could be a three level video).
    - Mobile miter saw station
    - man cave shed or a shed large enough to swing a golf club in!
    - floating shelves
    - dining room table
    - night stand
    - end table for the end of a couch where the top incorporates a sheet of 12x12 mosaic tile

John I've used those casters on a couple of shop carts. You'll want to re-drill the mounting holes for 1/4" bolts and bolt through. The screws will pull out with that much weight regardless of what the packaging says. Otherwise they've worked great for a couple of years.

This is a fantastic vid. This is a close copy to the most useful thing I have in my shop. Mines 4x6 and doubles as an outfeed table for my table saw. I will say mine's not as fancy but I get it from a video making perspective. For those who don't have a helper, 1/2 " plywood weighs a hell of a lot less than the particle board and is back to being affordable. The hardest thing for me to get used to is that this isn't a work table you worry about, you just replace pieces. I cut, paint, epoxy, feed animals, store crap, and once I took a nap on it. Thanks again for the content.

Finally I can say I've made a somewhat more advanced version of something on this channel. lol
I made my own "t-track" using steel strips and so the whole thing is capable of being a part of various different jigs I'm making. So far the router sled jig has been fantastic.

Quick tip on combining boards if they’re not joined: Crown them the opposite way when gluing or screwing together That’s what framers do(or are supposed to do) when building headers on a house. That way the crowns of the boards are fighting each other and it becomes super stable.

lol you went from if you have small shop to , we need rolling tables because our shop is this big in 30 seconds. lol just busting your chops . nice work and nice table.
I got hurt at work and had to give up my business, I did mobile boat repair for 30 yrs. so now I'm starting woodworking out of a 10x16 portable building with not much recent knowledge, I helped my uncle with woodworking as a kid and loved it so my knowledge is windmill's , with the guy sawing wood or a chicken pecking at the ground.
and then the price of wood now limits me to reclaimed pallets for something to do. you are a blessed man to have big beautiful shop like that . loved your video have a nice day.
