Not sure what happened to John and Carolyn but I suspect Carolyn’s cancer diagnosis is what got Morticia recast and maybe John didn’t want to return without her. John would later voice Gomez for HB’s second cartoon iteration of The Addams Family in the early 90’s. EDIT: Side note, the clip of John Astin as the game show played as I finished this. 😂🤣😊
Okay this video was MADE for me. I loved everything about this. Thanks for sharing some of the wackier stuff. Some backstory: I'm a college senior who watched so much Boomerang as a kid, I might as well have a doctorate in Hanna-Barbera history. And this is a solid crash course on The Flintstones and their wacky floating timeline. Believe it or not, The Flintstones might be the 5th most complicated Hanna-Barbera cartoon to fully dissect. As for the other four, it would be Huckleberry Hound, The Jetsons, Scooby-Doo, and all of all things, Yogi Bear. Trust me. I have spent too much of my life researching this. The 80s alone for this bear is astronomically baffling.
People always act like Gazoo was just too weird for this show even though that was after: the Bewitched crossover, these creepy neighbors, and I *think* after the time travel incident? I can't remember if Gazoo actually caused that last one, but it wasn't even the Jetsons crossover. Also I actually love Gazoo, he's the best character and I will die on that hill. Fred and Wilma suck. Edit: Oh you mentioned all that, lmao. I still prefer Gazoo.
Believe it or not I do vaguely remember snooper and blabber. I know it because I'm a millennial who grew up with the early days of cartoon network. And I'm talking early before they had any original cartoons.
the Flintstones should do a new wrestling special where they meet all the different wrestlers with the rock-based name changes - John Cenarock, the Gravel Digger, idk Hulk Hoge-stone, whatever - except for when they get to Dwayne Johnson so the Flintstones are like "...Dwayne... Johnson? that's it?"
