- How to sync the Roland Tr-8s to the Korg Volca Beats.
The Roland gear and Korg gear do not run using the same analog clock. So how do we go about synchronizing a Roland TR-8S with a Korg Volca Beats using analog triggers? I'll show in this video.

Having issues mpcx master to tr8s is setup correctly but the tr8s has a slight ms off. I stop the tr8s and hit it manually and it’s tight I wanted it to sync when I start the mpcx
Its based on HT tone.....have you tried into BD ou SD outputs ?
In the video where you trigger it with the TR-09 you go over how Volca will run twice as fast unless you turn off every other trigger. How do you do this with the TR-08?
TAGsVids, same logic, just enter trigger every 2 steps.
I am just using the 'trigger out' of my TR8-S for my volca instead of the individual outputs. I think it doesn't require any setup. I also ' solved; the 'double speed' case within the volca settings itself. It doesn't really matter. Different way, same result. I love your video's.

Hey! I have a TR-8S and a volca beats and am trying to make them work together, but im having a hard time with what cables I need and where to connect them, any tips? :)
You will need a mono 1/8 inch to 1/8 inch same as for modular synth. (If you use the trigger out of the tr-8s.

Why didn't you use the dedicated trigger track?

Why would the first beat on the TR8s not play when the loop starts over during syncing in slave mode?
It means the TR8s know where he is in the pattern I guess. Are you using midi clock?
@@Nu-trix I'll have to look again at the settings on my Fantom X. I think I had it set to clock but not sure. It would play the first beat when I first start the sequence but when the loop started over, it skipped the first beat for some reason.

The midi in of the volca wouldn't work for that same purpose?
MIDI cannot provide the same dynamic step sequence. It will simply play in sync all the steps.
@@Nu-trix I am sorry I know this is an old post but could you elaborate please? I tried to sync tr8s with a volca drum through midi... It played well but I had the feeling the tr8s applied some sort of choke as not all steps were always played... I don't know if that is somehow clear? Thanks a lot
I’d much rather sync my Volca drum than the Volca beats, the TR 8s would make the volca beats sound really bad!
Beats can record adjustments made to the stutter dial while hitting individual instruments which gives variation you can't get with the tr8s. The kick and toms are good on the beats imo.
In this way you loose the channel 6.
