Did that trip 50 years ago with some college friends. We had a small fiberglass cruiser and towed it down near to the end. Your filming is great. I love the bright sunlight coming through the trees and the camera hanging out over the viaduct. I rented a narrowboat last year out of Oxford it was just wonderful. Lovely pubs, open countryside, and curtains of weeping willow to plough through. Your upbeat vlog is a tonic, thank you so much.
A little canoe would have been handy to transport the cassettes and rubbish when the aqueduct walkway’s closed hey?❤ 🙂🐿🌈❤️ P.s I’m a new subscriber (hooray!) and so I’ve been binge-watching half of your videos, and I just keep on laughing, imagining you trying to think of a new/different video title each time ha ha and each time you DO!! And Nicky's eyes lit up when you mentioned something really strong to drink. 🙂 That Nicky, bouncing on that bridge, causing trouble. 🙂 Oh, I can remember 80 knot winds in Puget Sound here in the Pacific NW of Washington State, on my 1939 40-foot power boat with friends along too. We holed up in La Conner and put out every line and fender we had to hold us to the dock. Later in the afternoon, another boat came in with an older couple running it and they had only two fenders and two lines ... I loaned them fenders and lines and my friends did as well, everything we had was out on all three boats. Kind of like you folks on the canals ... we take care of each other. I've since sold my boat and am now caravaning, but find the same sense of caring in this group as well. Makes me want to vote for someone who owns or owned a boat or a caravan to run this country!!! Of course Nicky would fix the rudder/tiller! We never doubted her. Thanks Heidi, you're the best.

I really enjoy watching your vlogs, and always look forward to the next one. I just want to say thank you. Keep up the good work. I do own my own boat on the Thames, a steel built Dutch cruiser, which lives in a marina, it gets used as often as I can, but old father Thames has been in a state of flood for most of December and January so I’ve been hiding indoors watching you having fun. When you travel a mile of canal and realise the work that went into creating it, then think of the other 4.5+k miles of navigable canals in the UK it humbles you a bit. I have never set foot on a narrow boat but used to travel local canals with my dad walking and doing a bit of gongoozling, I used to help some of the old bargees with the locks and help split some firewood for a few, I even thought I lead a draft horse over a bridge for one old guy, although, the horse knew what it had to do as it had done the trip hundreds of times- imagine- an 8-year-old lad being lead by a 17 hand gentle giant, I could walk under it without my head touching its belly. stay safe out there and keep your rudder moist.
I remember saying after your last Vlog just how much I envy your boating lifestyle BUT I don't envy that you have to empty the cassettes in the dark and cold. Thanks for sharing your experiences I do enjoy watching. All the best ❤ Stephen

The secret to keeping warm is air caught inbetween layers. If you cram on too many layers it forces the air out and you may have lots of layers, but you will still be cold. Lucky ol' Roy. Your paint job still looks great in the winter sunshine. Keep smiling, that way you cheer us all up.
I did have quite a few layers on, couple of t shirts, thin jumper, thick cardi and nipple warmer 😂 I’m nesh and really feel the cold, yeah the paint job is looking I’m amazing I’m very pleased with it …. Roy 😂😂😂

Had a laugh when you said its no fun dragging a cassette in the mud, my daughter was watching for the first time and thought it was a good laugh nearly wet her self when you said about emptying a cassette with wet muddy paths . Heidi it’s been great watching you do the Llangollen Canal. I watched Anthony and Paul when they did it a while back. I was amazed, we did it a few years ago on a hire boat and the canal wasn’t moving like it was in your vlogs. We so wanted to see Horseshoe Falls but we didn’t have time sadly we had to get the boat back. That was without a doubt the best holiday we ever had so much so we were going home (Australia) to sell our motorhome and go back to the UK and buy a narrowboat. Two weeks after we got home COVID hit. Thanks heaps for the laughs and the great vlogs. Stay safe and warm. 💕

Hi Heidi, you should get yourself a WW2 flying jacket from Transair, I use one on the cold days an have never felt cold wearing it. I do life modelling and have stood outside for a break in the snow wearing my dressing gown and the flying jacket and still broke a sweat. They aren't cheap but they last forever. Your drink should be named The Pirates Warmer.

Fab camera work on that aqueduct! Also, nice job on showing the storm conditions. Brings the viewer more in to your experience. That's the purpose of the vids, and you do it well.
Very enjoyable. I had the pleasure of cruising the Llangollen about 10 years ago with my father who was a civil engineer with British Waterways Board as it then was. His first job upon joining in the 60's was the Llangollen as at that point it was in a pretty parlous condition. As we went along I got a guided tour of what works had been done and why. Those that he could remember at least! Being the best tillerman amongst us I was 'volunteered' to cross the aqueduct despite the fact that as you say there's no skill required really. Terrifying.....I hate heights. Very impressed it doesn't seem to faze you at all.

I've had a thought about these Casette problems why don't they just rewind it or stop diluting the rum with water. I've also concluded on the Cut they don' t measure distance in miles its in Pubs..

The secret to keeping warm is air caught inbetween layers. If you cram on too many layers it forces the air out and you may have lots of layers, but you will still be cold. Lucky ol' Roy. Your paint job still looks great in the winter sunshine. Keep smiling, that way you cheer us all up.
I did have quite a few layers on, couple of t shirts, thin jumper, thick cardi and nipple warmer 😂 I’m nesh and really feel the cold, yeah the paint job is looking I’m amazing I’m very pleased with it …. Roy 😂😂😂

Heidi it’s been great watching you do the Llangollen Canal. I watched Anthony and Paul when they did it a while back. I was amazed, we did it a few years ago on a hire boat and the canal wasn’t moving like it was in your vlogs. We so wanted to see Horseshoe Falls but we didn’t have time sadly we had to get the boat back. That was without a doubt the best holiday we ever had so much so we were going home (Australia) to sell our motorhome and go back to the UK and buy a narrowboat. Two weeks after we got home COVID hit. Thanks heaps for the laughs and the great vlogs. Stay safe and warm. 💕

Hi Heidi, you should get yourself a WW2 flying jacket from Transair, I use one on the cold days an have never felt cold wearing it. I do life modelling and have stood outside for a break in the snow wearing my dressing gown and the flying jacket and still broke a sweat. They aren't cheap but they last forever.
Your drink should be named The Pirates Warmer.

Fab camera work on that aqueduct! Also, nice job on showing the storm conditions. Brings the viewer more in to your experience. That's the purpose of the vids, and you do it well.

Very enjoyable. I had the pleasure of cruising the Llangollen about 10 years ago with my father who was a civil engineer with British Waterways Board as it then was. His first job upon joining in the 60's was the Llangollen as at that point it was in a pretty parlous condition. As we went along I got a guided tour of what works had been done and why. Those that he could remember at least!
Being the best tillerman amongst us I was 'volunteered' to cross the aqueduct despite the fact that as you say there's no skill required really. Terrifying.....I hate heights. Very impressed it doesn't seem to faze you at all.
She just takes herself over - stunning views but the bloody wind is horrendous 😂😂
