  • The distances to be covered on Lyra Prime were truly gargantuan, so no one "took a ride" here lightly. One had to think long and hard about whether the journey was worth it, in the literal sense, even if using an aircraft. Considering that even the concept of "not far" here translated to roughly 2 months of travel by ground transport, and that’s assuming you wouldn't encounter anyone on the road. Given that the landing and takeoff craft was out of commission, it indeed took "some time." The transporter from that craft truly deserved the word "quality"; the "Rhinoceros," although slow, was reliable, and the nuclear battery charge was more than sufficient, especially since they were found in any machinery. The key was to stay on course and not get lost in the local storms, which was relatively easy given the planet’s magnetic field; otherwise, the excessively dense layer of local dust would shield communication in all bands, including low-frequency seismic due to dynamically changing interference. Therefore, the course had to be strictly maintained according to the beacons. Thankfully, the weather was somewhat forgiving. But they made it-lucky indeed. The grand facade of Atlas Base inspired awe in the fleet command. And it must be admitted that the same was true for all subordinates; it’s hard to disagree that in such a harsh world, one yearns for something massive and immovable. But now, the Rhinoceros crew faced even greater confusion. Not only was there no communication with the base, but there were also no signs of life; nothing was lit up... and there was no movement. Yet, they had to enter, if only because their provisions were running low, and they couldn’t reach the next outpost of civilization... "Damn, we should have chosen a different route," the navigator glanced at the pilot, as if reading these thoughts, and once again turned his gaze toward their grim destination...

I'm a writer who sits in the darkest, random corners while writing my horror novels. I use these amazing ambient tracks to fuel my imagination while I write. Thank you for posting this. I will definitely be back to hear more. See you in the dark...
