How would you compare this machine with the Vasto XL that you reviewed?

Other than size, the Vasto XL has linear rails which increases rigidity and makes it a bit more accurate. The Sainsmart has integrated closed loop stepper motors, which increases the maximum feedrate to 5000 mm/min, while the Vasto XL has standard stepper motors and the maximum feedrate is 2000 mm/min. Both machines are good.

Would you recommend this CNC for cutting Aluminum primarily?

No. It will cut aluminum ok but machines with linear rails are better for that. This is probably better suited to wood and a mix of materials.

I have this setup and am trying to get the initial setup process done, but where yours says “initiate probe”, mine says “measure outside corners”. So I’m stuck. Can you help me with that?

Select "Z" ( instead of "XYZ" or "ZY" ) along the left-hand side of the probe module window.
