Hi Sam. Raise a complaint with the insurance company in writing outlining why you think are wrong. They will issue a final response in writing, no doubt declining your complaint. You can then refer the issue to the Financial Conduct Authority who will come to an impartial decision (hopefully in your favour) in respect of which the insurance company must by law comply with. It is useful also to submit a Subject Access Request to the insurance company and that way, they are legally bound to send you all information in their possession that relates to you and I mean everything. Comments in internal communication can often be very revealing. This route may at least get you your money back and the FCA can also make an a compensation order. This is worth exploring and costs nothing. Good luck.

The wobble - not sure if related but…. I had similar issue in a Suzuki swift. Turns out if I drove on my own it would sound like a rattle in engine so bad it sounded like it was about to fall out. With a passenger (the mechanic) no issue. Turns out it was related to the seatbelt. See if you get the same rattle if you got passenger seatbelt plugged in.

You may be able to get around the insurance problem by installing a small enclosure between the shared parking space and the forecourt. It’ll take up room but the separation may help appease the regulation .. unlikely tbh however and certainly not ideal. It sounds like BS to me.. The Qashqai losing power maybe because the lady is doing short journeys and if it’s a diesel engine then the DPF will get clogged up. It needs DPF cleaner in the fuel and a long run to burn off the soot. Also she should use premium diesel every other fill up and the fuel cleaner every 10,000 miles. Hopefully that’s the simple fix though it can be injectors or the DPF itself.
Someone mentioned a small shed could get me through this so thank you Graham! I’ll certainly look into this. The loss of power was on a Renault Kangoo. It’s going in on Monday! I agree though, those dpfs are fragile things!

Sam that hood is a good selling point ,simply sell the jeep with the hood ,but have it in writing from the buyer they buy the jeep with the sized lock on the hood , your buyer confirming at point of purchase they know of this fault ,then this bloody hood will not come back and bite you in the bum and you wouldn't want a bitten bum would you sam😂
Sam, first of all what an awesome channel. Reference your Amarok, what you have there is called a canopy. I am an English bloke in Australia and these are very common here that are fitted to all makes of Utes (pick ups), therefore I wouldnt be surprised if it was manufactured here. I am sure that the handles can been replaced and spares can easily be obtained. I’m happy to try and source one for you if you like? If not, just simply take it off and flip it on eBay but you make need paint on the rim of the tub as these do tend to rub. Let me know mate.

Yep, sell the Amarok with a known fault i.e faulty rear window lock. No warranty issues if customer buys it and signs to say they've been made aware.

I understand but it leaves a car a little unfinished and incomplete. I may just remove it and see what happens. In the meantime I can still hunt for the right parts. If I can get it all together and fixed then great. We’ll see! A painful week ahead!
