The Rogel Cancer Center @MichiganMedicine has put together this FAQ for questions about histotripsy liver cancer treatment at the University of Michigan. www.rogelcancercenter.org/liver-cancer/histotripsy-faq

@@Kunskapstorst it destroys only the cancer tissue because it is AIMED only at cancerous tissue. It would have the same effect on normal tissue, just it is precise enough to be able to avoid targeting that. Sort of like a more precise radiation therapy which is great, but it isn't necessarily more helpful for other types of cancer... I think ...

@@exosproudmamabear558 Yes, seems like an area of opportunity can be to lower the cost and use ways that are the most cost effective. Some days I wonder if like urushiol or something very natural and cost effective can be used. Maybe couple treatment with like an AIP or chronic urticaria diet or maybe even do the opposite to ideally specifically stimulate the immune system to be more focused on the carcinomas and not the allergens. Though this non ionizing radiation method baffles me why not studied and implemented decades back. Reminds me of the Laser The Light Fantastic book I read in grade school. Diathermy and other RF methods have been studied and is awesome to see the imaging near real time if not real time coupled with the systems. Similar, though at different emissions characteristics is being used with success to treat Alzheimers as well. There is a lot more area of opportunity to use systems like these Gamma and Cyber Knife designs, though in the non ionizing ranges for the least morbid procedure and the absolutely better outcomes. Almost scares me the lack of advancement, however gives me faith the medical researchers are becoming less of the most fraudulent researchers as I was taught and has been proven. Keep that in mind. Be thankful systems are being advanced and not sabotaged or fraudulent. Guessing also, lead poisoning from Ethyl as well as narcotics deviant behaviors effects are becoming less pronounced.

If it can be used for liver, that should be hopeful for lung cancer too?

This is really a useful technology. It prevents the seeding of new tumors during surgery. Quick recovery time will translate to higher cancer survival rates. I hope they can list Histosonics in the stock market so they scale this up so it can be widely used by everyone in the world (and not just by a few wealthy people). Ticker could be HSNC.

Hope the new turbo cancer can be treated without the sideeffects of cancer treatment. Even if a patient feel good right after treatment life treathening sideeffects often comes within hours or even a day or two. So I really hope humane cancer treatment soon is available as cancer has become more dangerous than seen before treatment was available at all.

Seems similar in concept to radiation, but radiation can actually CAUSE cancer by damaging neighboring cells. It would be awesome if this ultrasound technique was well enough controlled to avoid damaging nearby cells. Congratulations to all the folks working on this!
