This guy is making a lot of sense. For once someone is giving crime it's deserving attention. You have no idea of the crime trauma we experience here in PE. Using smart technology to advance public safety is the way to go these days. I'm ANC but I respect Ndlozi and he raises a very valid point. We seem to be lazy to think and use new ways and new technology for public service delivery.

I take a picture and send to my family before I go to work because I live alone. In case I disappear, they'd be able to describe what I was wearing on the day. 😢 What kind of life is that?

I'm quite impressed with how Dr. Ndlozi handled them. This organisation has handled the rest of the country since the dawn of democracy. They have computers in their stations to store some information about crimes, criminals and adresses where crime has taken place but guess what, when there's a need to pretend to be working they go to that computer to extract information or an address from where a crime was committed and go harass people living at that address even when the criminal who used to reside there is no more. All government organisations need such intervention ongoing..

South Africa is sick in the same way. Schools- there are schools known to fail and not teach. Health- there are clinics known that their nurses won't help you. Even with police. Inanda is known. The police can shut down the township on one day. Gugulethu? Ndlozi is spot on.
What is done? Places are known. Raids?
My question is why are Gang groups allowed to exist. I know not all crimes are gang-related, but there are many of them. These murder capitals exist mostly because of gangs. Why is it not a crime to be a gang member, just like in being in cult is a crime.

There is too little effort done on crime prevention in South Africa. You cannot just respond to the murder question by simply highlighting the number of arrests and convictions made.

Problem is to handle policing the same way as 1940's. Police needs to acclimate with technology.

Problems economic - policing small deterrent I fear . Education , work and hope for all - good policing to help no doubt
If the EFF can focus their energies on issues like this , they will gain a lot of support. Police Minister Cele was all about publicity and less about effective policing. Johannesburg CBD is a slum and the the murder capital of Gauteng. What are the contributing factors that must be addressed? 1) Poor street lighting 2) Overcrowding and lack of bylaw enforcement 3) Poor police visibility 4) Lack of street cameras particualarly around Bree and Noord taxi ranks. and 5) Highjacked buildings and are a mecca of crime syndicates, etc
How can one get the report Ndlozi is having there
On thats case tgey came up and say its Zululand got high crime rate.
