other than the autologs the campaign mode can be pretty much run offline . The multiplayer is a separate function from the main part of the game and to get into multiplayer you need to select from the start menu. In this version there is no free roam multiplayer like 2015 version of Need For Speed
They changed the online play. Before if you didn't ready up you could drive around in free roam with other players but with the update the other day they included a countdown now so if you don't ready up you will be kicked out of that lobby and put into a new one.
I really hope in the full game we can change the track width / offset of the wheels like in nfs 2015, all I’m seeing so far in Payback is the ride height and camber change. :/

no, if you see when I change the rear bumper all the way to the right you can find the PARTS SET. They're pretty much the same as the old nfs 2015 kit you can select from the roof.
not even close ... no free roam multiplayer...no police in free roam ( other than case missions ). Not all parts for the cars are up for grabs from the get go you have to buy them from tune up shops or unlock them from speed cards. Its kinda like Forza motorsport 3 meets burnout

There are two thigns that bother me hugely in this game...no online free roam like 2015, wtf! And the diferent builds...I like how the car behaves on the diferent builds (drag, drift, race, runner and off road) however It kind of sucks that you have the car locked on that specific build...let's say I would always want to play with the same car...I would have to buy that car 5 times and equip them individually just to be able to play on every category :\ Can't cruise around with let's say, my Drag Gtr cause the car doesn't behave like I want to since it's not built on the race category so I would have to buy it yet again :\
Yeah and I wish that the leveling and performance upgrades were different. Like imagine the real sortof sorts you bought (like in NFS 2015) actually supported it towards a type of build one in real life with different amounts of power and such. I hate the idea of upgrading a car through meaningless cards...just not how a car game should work. I mean come on the idea of building up a car is like mostly about the performance and this game missed that mark entirely.
