It´s the first time i hear the song back on top live. This song was my pillar when my mother died and i got in a divorce. It learned me to embrace the darkness and take comfort with it. There are so many times in my life that Jason Molina make things simpler and less complicated. The world lost a great musician and talent on the day he died. Rip Jason. Just be Simple.
Whoever's behind this channel is nothing short of a saint. Thank you. I regrettably found out about him too late, so videos like this and live audio on the Internet Archive is the closest I'll ever come.
me too. sadly. I can't believe I didn't get a hint of this -- I was in Charlotte nc. Music scene during this time....didn't hear him until a few months ago on TH-cam. it's addictive.
Such a great set. Really wish I was able to hear more of "The Ghost" live, my favorite Molina album. I think The Dark Wrong Turn is the only song I've heard done live from it.
ElJimmie I’m only seeing “Dark Wrong Turn” performed three different times in 1999. He played a lot of shows and it wasn’t out of the question for him to play a song just one night and never again so it’s possible other tracks from The Ghost were performed live but I don’t have recordings of them. Likewise, since not all concerts were recorded it’s likely he performed “Dark...” a few more times it just wasn’t captured. Sorry I couldn’t be more help.
@@songsohiavideoarchive4221 that's alright, thanks for taking the time to check. Maybe some will turn up eventually. The whole album is so great to me, perfect bedroom recordings. I can't imagine why he never wanted to revisit those songs.
wow seeing this , quite a surprise. cracking jokes. i saw him around the same timeframe on a tour in Europe. first he did a show acoustic in a store for free in front of 20 people, and later on at night with the band. i remember he was nice at both, but said no words between songs as he did here. rip Molina
That's the vibe bro, light conversation while music like this is playing... it's a completely surreal feeling. Not to mention this is also a bar, so it's kind of unavoidable.
@@wzafflee6210 Listening retrospectively it sure is a bit annoying, but at the time those nice Indiana folks were in a local place listening to an up and coming artist. They were having a good time. What a cult artist. I am absolutely obsessed with JM.
"The Black Crow" shocks my psyche every time. Even more so live.
not sure if you check this much, but: riding with the ghost is phenomenal as both a biography and a piece of storytelling. cheers, hope all is well

Inject this version of Nobody Tries right into my fucking veins.
The world misses this beautiful soul
Every time I listen to Jason I can't help but feel sorry that he's gone. His voice was truly out of this world, rest in peace Jason. We miss you.
I pity everyone who has never heard him (particularly live - which was mental)
This man changed my life. Rest in peace King 🙏🏼
me too..big time!

Jason Molina’s music will age very nicely.
“Will”? It already has
"I stop the party at the beginning of the party" --Jason Molina
Now I can see the black crow you’ve mentioned Jason. As you tried, I have to make a change. Still don’t know how. RIP.
Wow. Thank god this exists. I just found Jason Molina 😢😢😢😢
what an amazing human being, miss you and your words that could have been!
have never heard a song writer like him.. truly legendary.. rest in peace
This footage and the audio quality is amazing, thank you for making this available. What a performance from a true artist!
I listened to this in audio form a bunch of times. The video is great! Nobody Tries is done really well. Seven years today.
Very happy to be the 51st like. Thank you so much for all of your work.
Tks...

ElJimmie he didn’t perform much live from Ghost or Ghost Tropic. I’ll look through my shows and see if there are any other live Ghost tracks for you.
@@songsohiavideoarchive4221 awesome, thanks a lot!

thank you so much for these videos.
thank you.
Jason meant so much to my best friend and I’s life. His voice and music will never be the same. Rest In Peace RJ & Jason.
he seemed so much more relaxed and carefree in the early 2000s

Great to see this hometown show that I regretfully missed.... any idea who shot the video?
T-H-A-N-K Y-O-U!!!
Doe anyone know where I can find the set where Jason did Steve Albini’s blues and a hank Williams song toward the end?
th-cam.com/video/KDuL8uQKmaE/w-d-xo.html
he internalized no second chances which was a mistake
USA public is such a pain in the ass. Listen to the damn music and stop talking!

I don't mind talking over it because I know I will listen to it later and even stay and deconstruct it -- so the fist time im just letting it roll.
