- Hi Guys,
I wanted to share something special with you guys, so I decided to share my wedding video. It was the most incredible day of my life, I wish I could marry my husband a million more times.
We had a traditional persian wedding ceremony, including something called a Sofreh Aghd which is what we are sitting behind during the ceremony. It has symbolic items in the display (a mirror, eggs to represent fertility etc)
We also did the knife dance before we cut the cake, which is where the brides friends steal the knife from the groom and he has to bribe them with money to get it back while they dance around him with the knife.
I went with softer hair and makeup, I wanted to be understated and more "natural" - for me anyway haha. A part of me wishes I did the full Lilly Ghalichi Fantasy with a whole pack of Lilly Hair and super dramatic makeup, but I didn't want the day to be about ME, it was OUR day.

Najwa Tawil no worries! So the table she is sitting in front of has many different items that symbolize different things in a married life. Also we don’t have a priest she is just marrying them, we don’t base our ceremony on religion but rather the Iranian culture.

Couldn't stop smiling the entire video. As you said in a previous video, you choose to believe in love again and God rewarded you so well. " I'm so happy I never settle because I never would have met Dara." God had a plan this all time. Give me so much hope for my future because being single at 27 can be hard sometimes. You are still sooo very young if you only knew? (am sure you do) even If you were from a different culture where women have to get married young, let say between 22 and 28, it is better to wait for the best one, than just marry one that you are going to regret every single day of your married life. specially today age is really not an issue.

I am a Hispanic female and have been lucky enough to have been invited to a Persian wedding and it was truly amazing but this wedding here is on another level! I honestly think Lily made her wedding even more gorgeous with her beautiful smile. Can’t wait for baby!!

haticek you see midway though the marriage civil presenter and then her, Dara and both their fathers all signing the Muslim wedding contract. Your father’s don’t need to sign a normal wedding license which is always done before the actual ceremony. Nothing’s signed day off at wedding unless wedding is in court house. You see it and how happy they are and nice to see that part of religion and history brought into wedding more modern.
Emm Sid she is Iranian Muslim yes. Also many practicing Muslims don’t always follow rules. Many drink, get tattooed, swear, etc etc just like many in every group or culture or religion don’t always follow their rules. They could have had a section of haram champagne and other liquor and then area with sparkling juices, non alcoholic beer and wine. I was in the biggest Muslim family in my large city for years. Learned language, religion,customs, how weddings are done, etc etc. My ex was Muslim but drank, smoked, had tats but he was only one in family like that. At all weddings of theirs I went to with him all had a clean or non alc bar and then another bar for the haram they had. Actually had sign saying Bar for Sinners as a joke lol. Everyone in every religion will do and interpret and represent it in the way it fits them or what they like. You’ll never find everyone doing and acting and practicing the same.

Each item on the table serves a purpose, for instant the mirror is for the couple to reflect on their past lives before starting one together. They rub sugar cane together during the ceremony so theyre showered with sweetness. At the end the bride and groom share honey to symbolize the start of a life thats sweet and pure like honey. Other things that happen is the knife dance where when the couple wants to cut the cake, the groom has to get the knife back from the people dancing with it with some form of payment (usually its money).. hopefully that helps lol
