The Tactical View! Yes, it is partially inspired by Homeworld, iirc. Although it had no hologram-like darkening with blue tint, it was added later on on its own merit - to highlight markers better.
@@random_passerby4672 the Sensors Manager is an amazing piece of work. Great for overview of space battles. Glad to know that other game developers are picking up on this UI design, too.
One-week major discount has been tried on winter sale (Dec 2021 - Jan2022, 50% off), and did not seem to have such an effect. It appears that players do not stay for long due to game not being finished yet. Therefore, finishing it first should be the priority, not marketing?
Yes they are! They are even destroyable on small ships, although very hard to hit, as well as on static structures. Self-repair on ships is not balanced well enough yet, so turrets can go online again in a pretty short time. It will be balanced eventually.
Yes! Destroyer, Cruiser, and Carrier are pilotable capital ships. All ships here share physics rules, so they are flown in the same way, just some are heavier and bigger. Difference on the screen is due to the use of Capital Ship Control Scheme, that changes the view and controls slightly, to make piloting big ships easier. Personally, it feels similar to Fractured Space and Dreadnought, but also better in many ways.
They do, it depends on how the ship hits the ground :D In game, the most damage comes from dragging the ship on the ground, as it does not model deformations on both the hull and the ground. In latter case ships would have been bent and sunk upon crash, and it would be fair for them to be considered dead on the spot. But since both are no-deformable, they bounce off (losing some energy of course), letting ship retain some hull as a result. Simulation limitations!
Depends on how fast it happens. If a ship hits something at 1km/s or higher it will usually just die. At speeds lower then 1km/s it will take less damage and the damage scales based on how fast it hits. It makes hitting objects more forgiving since combat speeds are generally around 200 to 800 m/s so you won’t just explode if you accidentally hit something unless you are already damaged. This is important because the physics in space especially make turning at high speed really difficult so it’s easy to fuck yourself over and crash into something.
@@a.r4889 i believe they are planning to go active in the beginning of 2023 from what I understand. It wasn't refined enough and they didn't have enough server space for a full launch until recently
@@chaschristiansen imo, this engine would be pretty awesome for a faction based mmo. Get some proper pve in there and a nice faction war, it would be pretty cool.

I think that was the plan for infinity (though multiplayer, not single player.) Infinity: battlescape was made into an arena based game because its a less risky game to develop.
The enemies in this base have simply said they don’t consent to defeat lol
Im glad to see the game doing so well.
This game should have been a open world sandbox single player experience from the start.
The ship design looks very 'Homeworld'y
While talking about it, the game already released on mobile this month.
0:04 and this right here is the Homeworld Sensors Manager

super sad that only like 9 ppl play this game. I would buy it if there were at least 40
And thus, the cycle goes on. Look for 1.0 release, it's on the horizon, servers might fill up.
Same, its over priced and no one wants to pay money for a dead game. Needs to be F2P to get that game population back.
could be solved by a one-week major discount , say 60% on 1.0 release

i have a question: are the turrets on big ships destructible?

would be cool if there was a singleplayer option, multiplayer can be annoying.
Не плохо, ...но один залп(обороны) должен "анигилировать" атаку(одного кораблика)...

It is not complete yet, current version is in 0.9, and no proper marketing has been done as per dev team plan.
