Chanel West Coast is awesome, but her rap could be better :)
She's gotten a whole lot better lately. Her mixtape Waves and her album America's Sweetheart have some of her best songs. She did okay, but I have heard her rap better.

Shanell has been on their label for years now. Just as long as nicki if not longer. And they don't promote Shanell what so ever. Her talent is going to waste. She is a great song writer and a great singer. But YMCMB is letting her go to waste and it's ridiculous. She needs to leave. Their is nothing there for her. She can make in the music business if she would just leave and find a record label that would take her career serious and handle her properly. YMCMB has so many artist signed to them but we NEVER see them. Just Drake Nicki and Tyga. It's ridiculous that they still stay knowing YMCMB is probably never gonna give them a full length album or a tour or anything.
the problem with your comment is the following..
A label is not able to give an artist a career.
You build your own buzz, and garner your fanbase on your own. YES I agree she has talent, but unfortunately she has not gotten mainstream relevance.
A label cant make an artist successful, thats the artists job. She needs to make moves on her own. Go look for producers, beats, release stuff on her own and promote. A label only helps with the recording and putting an album together once it is ready. My point is.. you gotta work on your own, a label is not a magician.
Oh AN but notice how they promoted the hell out of nicki. No it's not your job to do it on your own. If you do go out and get all the stuff that you listed and your company doesn't give you the slightest promotion then you're obviously not gonna have that fanbase out their. Wayne and all of them are pretty much producers in fact Birdman is producing his stuff. Mater of fact Wayne was upset with the fact that Birdman put waynes album on hold to deal with other business matters. But like you said a label can't make an artist successful but they can contribute by properly promoting someone. When Jay-Z signed rHianna when she firs started out. her promoted her and made sure she got out there and did interviews and got her name known. Wayne and them promoted Nicki and Drake as well. but then you have Shanell. I think they also Promoted tyga a bit. But you're right a label can't make an artist successful but you can assist in that.
Rainier Surratt ur right but the label will only promote something that they see is marketable. Nicki sold mixtapes and earned over a million off of just a mixtape. Drake hit mainstream levels after the Forever Remix. ONCE that all happened, the labels promoted the shit out of them because they knew they are marketable. Shannel needs to work on that, ive seen interviews, shes so shy. She gotta come charging at music industry. Show her personality n make an impact. Once she gets that shine, YM will promote her like crazy

I love both of these artist but unfortunately, they featured the least popular, irrelevant artist from Young Money on the same track. They worked good together but both of them would have been better off if they had been paired with a more known member of Young Money. Both Chanel WC and Shanell, had the potential to blow up, but their label lowkey forgot about them. Chanel West Coast is getting more recognition now though and she may blow up soon. I hope the same thing happens for Shanell. I really wanted to see a Nicki Minaj x Chanel West Coast collab, that would have help Chanel WC out so much, she would have gotten bigger if they had worked together. They are both great artists though.

She can sing good; she can spit decent bars every so often (when she actually tries to) and she has done pretty much every genre under the sun. I'm not saying she's a superstar, but she's actually a whole lot better than people give her credit for. Everyone only knows her shitty songs (which are the ones to blow up), but songs like Hello Goodbye, Civil War, Vinyl, No Plans, Pursuit of Happiness and several more are actually great quality.
