I have been watching ISAC since 2012 and I agree with what she said that ISAC on its early time was very famous and high standard because idols were seriously immersed to sports and it was really fun to watch.
Nah i wouldn't blame their manager if idols not interacting with other groups from different company, it was the fans that created that kind of situation. The managers only doing their job to keep their idols away from scandal. Fans going crazy over idol's relationship is the reason why company asked their idol's manager to keep eyes on them.

Watched this just after finishing this years Chuseok ISAC. Brought up a lot of interesting points about the realities of how hard it is for rookies. It's also funny how they brought out a new event where idols compete by spacing out haha. At least they can't get hurt in this event. I agree, ISAC really was popular back then but I think it’s also partially because of how interesting it was to watch idols actually take the competitions seriously. This was actually how I came to know about 4Minute, because they had a rivalry with Sistar in Archery, and it was really fun to watch. Coming back to this after 2 years. I'm glad YGE stopped sending their idols to ISAC. YGE did a smart move in preventing their idols from having serious injuries especially for their girlgroup. ISAC doesn't give a damn when idols have injury during participation.
I never understood this whole concept of if an idol is dating its a scandal, I mean if fans were truly happy for their idol you’d think they would support them no matter who they talk to. That and over shipping idols, some can’t even breathe next to eachother without getting shipped.
Back in 2010s isac was much more fun for idols and fans cause I remember most male and female groups interacting with each other, cheering etc.. It was pretty chill back then
I remember my favorite Manga/Manhua on Mangatoon App "IMITATION" . (which is very underated but A VERY VERY good manhua that I really really recommend especially if you are a KPOP fan) The title of the Manga is "IMITATION" and the story is about the real life or behind the scene of KPOP idols, (including dating/ secret relationships between idols, struggles on the KPOP industry, scandals, Dispatch, polotical influence etc) the first chapters were on ISAC as well.. Anyway the art on the first chapters are not that great but the story line was excellent :)
I don't think I've ever really thought about the show when not seeing the name, and I don't think I've ever thought of it in an acronym. It's basically just "the idol athlete show" to me.
7:43 For that question, it seems a bit true based on what happened to BTS. They broke ISAC rules after signing a 2 year contract because they had to do concerts and couldn't attend ISAC. Ever since then, for MBC Gayo Doujeun, they were treated unfairly with their performance times. They weren't invited in 2019 and that carried onto Gfriend and TxT. Anyway, I don't want to make assumptions
actually mbc invited bts but bts declined cuz they were having their concert series,, and then mbc decided not to invite txt and gfriend because it turned out that bts attended another award show instead so they got salty
Really enjoyed this. Thank you. I watched a lot of the outdoor comps. when I first came to Kpop in 2016 so got to know a lot of the idols names without knowing their groups. I've always thought sport is where you see people's real personalities but i realized that the boys were always aware of the camera (well almost always). Fell in love with BtoB's Minhyuk thru these and discovered ISAC thru my bias group Astro who were included in their debut year. I miss the Futsal but I know it's risky since I used to play in a men's team. Strangely I found the Try Not To React comp fun too this time. I did wonder how they chose the sport bcs my ult bias group were in some sports that were new to them.
Meanwhile there's Stray Kids who literally could care less they talk with everyone male or female they don't care 🤣🤣 they seem especially close to twice tho since they in the same company i even remember that icon moment where they danced to "dance the night away " in front of them it was hilarious and awesome 😂😂

Before their debut, it's always S.coups and Woozi (They even said that they will marry each other and Woozi is the bride). Also Jeonghan and Joshua. They're a superior ship. They have a close friendship and they did everything together. (They said "If you give up, i give up" to each other). But the company sticked to "Parents" ship. So they pushed Jeonghan and Seungcheol. So now Woozi and Seungcheol, Jeonghan and Joshua are now kind of distant from each other.
yeah, anything that will get the most positive response from fans for viewing really. If fans aren’t pushing certain ships regardless of how close certain members are to eachother those ships won’t get aired as frequently and there will be noticeable awkwardness if two members who were formerly inseparable are now barely seen interacting together. Sunwoo and Haknyeon in the boyz is a great example of that, while these day’s they interact on screen more there was a significant chunk of time where there were literally no interactions, after they were clearly close to eachother.

Why do you need to see them react to every single performance when all you’re going to do is pick apart their reactions and make assumptions about what they’re saying or thinking during the performance and then run with your wild fantasies?

Solo artists don’t usually participate in ISAC. Only idol groups participate. Unless u r a solo artist that originated from a group, I don’t think they are considered an idol. Idols are basically boy groups and girl groups. Eg: hwang chi yeul, sung si kyung, jessi, lee-hi etc they are not exactly labelled as an “idol”. Sunmi, chungha, gdragon, taeyang, on the other hand were from idol groups and later release their solo albums or go solo therefore they were labelled as an “idol” first before becoming known also as a solo artist.

Watched this just after finishing this years Chuseok ISAC. Brought up a lot of interesting points about the realities of how hard it is for rookies. It's also funny how they brought out a new event where idols compete by spacing out haha. At least they can't get hurt in this event. Anyways, great video and hopefully we'll see your personal experience!

I agree, ISAC really was popular back then but I think it’s also partially because of how interesting it was to watch idols actually take the competitions seriously. This was actually how I came to know about 4Minute, because they had a rivalry with Sistar in Archery, and it was really fun to watch. So I guess, that also answers the q about how ISAC may affect groups.. exposure! Anyway, great Idol Insider vid as always! 👍🏼
Coming back to this after 2 years. I'm glad YGE stopped sending their idols to ISAC. YGE did a smart move in preventing their idols from having serious injuries especially for their girlgroup. ISAC doesn't give a damn when idols have injury during participation.

I remember my favorite Manga/Manhua on Mangatoon App "IMITATION" . (which is very underated but A VERY VERY good manhua that I really really recommend especially if you are a KPOP fan) The title of the Manga is "IMITATION" and the story is about the real life or behind the scene of KPOP idols, (including dating/ secret relationships between idols, struggles on the KPOP industry, scandals, Dispatch, polotical influence etc) the first chapters were on ISAC as well.. Anyway the art on the first chapters are not that great but the story line was excellent :)

I watched a lot of the outdoor comps. when I first came to Kpop in 2016 so got to know a lot of the idols names without knowing their groups. I've always thought sport is where you see people's real personalities but i realized that the boys were always aware of the camera (well almost always). Fell in love with BtoB's Minhyuk thru these and discovered ISAC thru my bias group Astro who were included in their debut year. I miss the Futsal but I know it's risky since I used to play in a men's team.
Strangely I found the Try Not To React comp fun too this time.
I did wonder how they chose the sport bcs my ult bias group were in some sports that were new to them.

Before their debut, it's always S.coups and Woozi (They even said that they will marry each other and Woozi is the bride). Also Jeonghan and Joshua. They're a superior ship. They have a close friendship and they did everything together. (They said "If you give up, i give up" to each other). But the company sticked to "Parents" ship. So they pushed Jeonghan and Seungcheol. So now Woozi and Seungcheol, Jeonghan and Joshua are now kind of distant from each other.
yeah, anything that will get the most positive response from fans for viewing really. If fans aren’t pushing certain ships regardless of how close certain members are to eachother those ships won’t get aired as frequently and there will be noticeable awkwardness if two members who were formerly inseparable are now barely seen interacting together. Sunwoo and Haknyeon in the boyz is a great example of that, while these day’s they interact on screen more there was a significant chunk of time where there were literally no interactions, after they were clearly close to eachother.
Rie Veluv BTS and anyone really, the amount of performances I see that have comments of “I want to see a BTS reaction cam to this” and I’m like why? Why do you need to see them react to every single performance when all you’re going to do is pick apart their reactions and make assumptions about what they’re saying or thinking during the performance and then run with your wild fantasies?

If you’re a solo artist (assuming solo artists can attend, I don’t know much about ISAC) would it be easier to just like, walk around and talk to anyone or would there be limitations set by maybe a manager about where you could hang out?
Solo artists don’t usually participate in ISAC. Only idol groups participate. Unless u r a solo artist that originated from a group, I don’t think they are considered an idol. Idols are basically boy groups and girl groups. Eg: hwang chi yeul, sung si kyung, jessi, lee-hi etc they are not exactly labelled as an “idol”. Sunmi, chungha, gdragon, taeyang, on the other hand were from idol groups and later release their solo albums or go solo therefore they were labelled as an “idol” first before becoming known also as a solo artist.
No one cant separate Stray kidz from their Twice noona at ISAC.They will always follow their sister .JYP family really arent scared of scandal and rumour

Thank you! I love ISAC, especially when my group wins (Gfriend.) When Yuju won her dash, or did well with gymnastics, I loved it! When Umji bounced an arrow off the center camera, I went wild! :) Bowling was fun too. And I like to see them interact with their friends from other groups, Yerin, Sowon, SinB, Eunha... :) Thanks for giving us background, I understand better now.
