- The TSN Hockey panel shared their thoughts on Edmonton's dominant victory over Florida in Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final on Saturday night, and how important it was for the Oilers to make a statement in the victory.

Winning 8-1 is huge. A lot of players scored points tonight. A lot of players are all fired up.
It was huge, and you would think it's a sign they can indeed win this series. One small problem, though: they went 1 for 6 on the powerplay. If they don't fix the powerplay, they don't have a chance of winning this series.
They weren't going to give the cup away in their own building, ya know!

Seeing Bennett and Tkahuck both in the box at the same time while the score was 6-1 was awesome!
What I thought was really cool was McDavid taunting them into the stupid penalties they took. Shows who the serious player is. After Bennett took the penalty for giving McDavid a couple cheap shots, McDavid just laughed at him.

It could be over for Florida on Tuesday. I really think if Panthers can’t close on Tuesday, then it’ll be much harder to close in Games 6 and 7. The doubt creeps in and the pressure mounts.

Every sports analyst picked Oilers to win the cup. They are the far more skilled team and it isn’t even close. The oilers were on a cold streak the first 3 games and now they have caught fire. Very likely they are winning the cup.
Noticed that for the Oilers McDavid/Draisatl, only played 17 minutes, rather than the usual +20. That is a good sign, other players are stepping up. But Holloway, what a player. He can finish at speed.

The Panthers dragged the Oilers back to Florida. But the Oilers did deserve to win one. They are a great team with (mostly) friendly fans. I would definitely bet they are going to win it all next year.

We all know the odds are heavily stacked against the Oilers, but Bobrovsky has a weak high glove and they picked at it all night and had success. Whatever happens I'm glad they gave the fans this performance.

The boys had none of it. I’m just surprised I didn’t witness more goalie crashing from the team that leads the regular season and playoffs in goalie interference situations and disallowed goals. Have faith that hockey will finally triumph over goonery.
I thought Bennett broke or sprained his knee but coming back to play on the powerplay showed he was trying to get a major against the oilers but it didn't work

I watched all PO games of Edmonton this year and I have to say since series with Dallas, he is top 3 edmonton player. He is amazing in PK, he skates a lot and always create pressure in o-zone to draw faceoffs.

I really feel pushing that forward very aggressively towards the panthers blue line early really had the panthers defence backed up and in the back foot and led to way easier zone entries for the Oil.

Everyone, at least most Canadians, Florida fans probably don't have a very good idea where Canada really is on a map, remembers the 2021 comeback win by Montreal over Toronto in the Stanley Cup playoffs. They too were down 3-0. The series winner is always the toughest game to win. Lots of teams just don't have it in them. A four game sweep , from here, by Edmonton is very much possible. Florida just isn't a serious team. They play good machine system hockey, but lack in passion and commitment, and in Bennett and Tkachuk a few more brains would be useful.
Montreal was down 3-1 in the series, not 3-0. It was still an incredible comeback nonetheless.
Edmonton needs that first goal. I dunno what it is maybe a confidence boost but they seem to
play harder trying to keep the lead and everything seems to work
out perfectly for them, than trying to catch up I feel.

It was just a home town beating not even close out of all playoffs games this was the worst loss in this year's playoffs oilers when they find there game every 3 game loosing streak the oilers have followed up with big runs 8 wins in a row in one 16 in another so if you let them back into winning like this is such a boost for oilers going into Florida
In response to the question that forms the title of this video, it was huge for the Oilers to win that game by at least 2 goals. The Habs needed, in game 4 of the 2021 Cup final vs the Bolts, almost 4:00 of OT to win that game, hadn't by then scored since a bit before the 9:00 mark of the 3rd period and wouldn't in that Cup final score again.
It's important to not just solve Florida's goaltending but to do it 8-1......a complete blow-out.
It makes Florida think twice about everything they do, that they are not living a charmed life, that bad things can happen.
Win every shift and you'll win the game.
This was totally very interesting change of direction, although Oil dominated clearly the first game too. Its very much dependant, how much goalies play in next games, and what this loss meant to Bob's psyche.

The OIlers don't like doing things the easy way. They've shown that all year - the comback Kings. I can't think of a more fitting way to end their season than to do something that hasn't been done since 1942 and come ALL THE WAY BACK. IF any team can do it, its this one.

That 5 on 3 was given to the Oilers so that the referees can justify giving the Panthers either a 5 on 3 in game 5 or just have another terrible case of favortism in game 5 in favor of the Panthers. They gave a meaningless 5 on 3 to the Oilers just for that reason alone. Watch. The first 3 games the reffing was brutal in favor of the Panthers. No, it was given to them because the refs were embarrassed that they just about gave the Oilers ANOTHER 5 and a game penalty over a Panther faking an injury. Refs catalog things like this, and they don't like being embarrassed like that. Florida may not be getting calls for the rest of this series, however long that is.
