With respect to your point of view and Regardless of the way you look into this issue ( why you change the way , you look at things , the things you look at change )..
It doesn't work for several complicated reasons , but one of the main reasons is the stupid losers regimes of Sudan since then and till now..
As well The identification issue of the sudan ( sudan in the real history is all this area between red sea and the ocean , currently is more than 500 different ethincs) as Dr. John garang pointed to that ( sudanism) , and I do believe that's only visionary strategic leaders in sudan since independence is 2 persons only Dr. John and Mahmoud mohamed taha..
The ideology of the Arabia and Islam caused a huge error for the sudan ( and I don't mean by ideology the great culture of the Arabia and even greater culture of the Islam, there's a huge different)..
Ideology as max hiemer once said ( the ideological mentality lose its ability to be independent, losing its ability to work and to think critically , and the only thing remains its ability to process the natural procedures ( as animal minds )..
