I have a question when you first go into your brush presets your brush preview is so much different then mine and I cant seem to position it the way yours is so I cant get the desired effect I want to when painting. How do I fix this so I can get this effect.

whenever I make a selection, and use the paint bucket tool to fill the triangle made with the pen tool, it fills everything except the triangle...anyone know how to fix this?

You have to invert selection. Choose Rectangular Marqee tool i.e. and right click on the selection -> Invert selection
