    I play it with a slow triplet strum...Down with the first finger, up with the thumb, up with the first finger, repeat four times per measure. Or you can play four down beats per measure (this would be a way to make it easier).

    I love it! Just a tip tho, instead of using d7, using d would be much better as it gives completion to the chord and the song. That's what I reccomend but other than that this was really great! Good job.

    • @ukeplayalongs
      @ukeplayalongs  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I had to go back and look at the song; I think I chose the Hawaiian D7 because it is easier to play for beginners (although I did use D earlier in the song) and also because of the incomplete nature of the D7 (especially the Hawaiian D7 without a D in it) leading back to the actual key of G. That said-if you want to play the D instead-go for it.

    • @ukeplayalongs
      @ukeplayalongs  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Download the chord chart, such as at ukutabs.com and practice off that chart, without the play along video. If you want to bring something from just a play along to performance, you’re going to have to move towards performance. And music is one place where you can fail, dust yourself off, and keep going.

    • @ukeplayalongs
      @ukeplayalongs  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I avoid giving specific strumming patterns because in most of the songs, ukulele was never used and there is no "right" answer. What is more important is that you keep a steady beat with the music, and find a pattern that sounds pleasing to your ear, as you're the one playing along with the song.
      These were also created for the classroom, and teachers like to specify their own patterns with their students. And, adding a strumming pattern to the beginning of a song adds time before students are playing--which is fine the first time, but an added lag each and every other time you want to play the song.
      I do realize that some people get caught up in playing "THE" right pattern...and for those people, in the summer of 2019, I began creating tutorials for every play along that I make on my sister TH-cam Channel. For many of these older play alongs (older on this channel), there are lots of suggestions in the comments, and if you need some guidance, that would be a good place to start!

      @@ukeplayalongs - too many people want to be robots when it comes to playing music (uke, guitar, etc). Don't worry about the strumming pattern. Feel the music in your heart and let it out in your fingers. Your answer is spot in. Find the pattern in your fingers. Let the music flow. :)

      @@ukeplayalongs But why?

    • @ukeplayalongs
      @ukeplayalongs  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Likes and dislikes don't really help me, as a creator, to know anything more about the video. I know the algorithms look at it, but I could really care less about it (as these videos do not earn any income, at least for me...copyright holders and TH-cam earn any ad revenue that you see). People dislike videos for all kinds of reasons...they might not like the song, or an artist, or a different key, or the ukulele, or whatever. So I just turn that off and ignore it.

      There is no one right answer, as there was no ukulele in the original version of the song. Just be sure to find a pattern you like and keep with the beat!

    G D Em D Cx6 D7
    And 4:11
    G D Em D Cx6 D7x6 G
