What do you recommend for maintenance for an F10 M5? I am picking one up in a few weeks. 100,000km, Stage 2. Has full maintenance history, recent services have been 6-10,000km apart (for last 5 years / 40,000km or so). Prior to that, there were a couple years early on where it went 20,000km between services. It's just had a service - but regardless, I am planning on doing a proper maintenance reset on it. DCT service and diff, it's just had brakes done. Should I go so far as rod bearings and valve stem seals? Any other critical, but often overlooked parts that should be refreshed?
Thats really hard to say, I've seen perfect bearing with 200k kms and completely toasted one on a 60k kms car - It all comes down to how the previous owner treated the car - regular oil changes definitely help but going hard while the engine s still cold can cause a lot of damage and if the wear is already there it's only gonna get worse even if you do 5k oil intervals. If it was my car I'd chance/flush every single fluid (oil, coolants, PS, transmission, diff .... do the filters and I also like to start the ownership with a fresh set of spark plugs just so I know they are new.
Hahaha you’re helping the statistics 🤣 when I bought mine I thought I’d be fixing it every weekend …. But it has been over 3 years and the thing never broke down 🤔
@@dnl35projectsI have 2008 41k miles with no problems yet(2 years), any advice on oil weight or anything else, love your videos, maybe shoud make a video on E60 in general and s85 engine
Hi Simon, I cannot remember from top of my head since that run was early 2023 and I’ve been taking my other cars ever since - I’ll see if the time cards are still in the glove box.

Hilarious. I'm lucky all my BMWs were well maintained before my ownershio.
That’s one of the keys to have a happy BMW ownership. 👍
