Lana Del Rey - Zodiac (Purify Me) 𝜗𝜚 LYRIC ⋆ AUDIO VIDEO

- Zodiac leaked today (low quality and cut), but I wanted to add lyrics nonetheless. This song is absolutely beautiful, and I wish it was on the album in some form or another because it sheds light on the awful tragedy that struck Gilgo Beach in Long Island:
Multiple girls, most of whom were s** workers, were m**dered and had their disassembled bodies dumped on the beach and surrounding islands. Shannan Gilbert was one of the women who went missing; her phone call to police prompted a search which ended up having multiple victims found. Gilbert still has not found justice in her passing, as police ruled her's as accidental despite proof saying otherwise. Two of the other victims were named in this song, Megan Waterman and Amber Costello.
This might be one of Lana's darkest songs when exploring the theme on m*rder, but it's important and would've fit Ocean Blvd in a way we wouldn't've expected. Again, I'm holding out hope for it to be released despite it leaking.
Sorry for censoring words in the description. TH-cam likes to hide videos with "explicit" words

i wish they leaked this song in a good quality
this gotta be her most darkest song ever
she could release it as a single and donate the profits/royalties to the families of the victims, that would be a great way to immortalize them. And pay respect
I think that would be amazing. Hope she does 🙏🏻
RIP to all of all of the known victims of LISK and sending sooo much love to their families ❤️

And of course the woman whose disappearance led to these victims being discovered/Justice being served
🕊️Shannan Gilbert🕊️
RIP to all of these beautiful souls and thank you Lana for making a tribute to these women ❤️plz release in higher quality
I understand why it was not released, although I have always believed that when Lana talks about these stories in her music she is not romanticizing it, she is simply talking about reality, about the human feelings that we all feel and repress where no one is good and happy or bad and unhappy. , I understand that it is difficult for society to accept topics that can be unpleasant or uncomfortable and talking about them becomes taboo, but that is real art, that is poetry.
I would love it if she could at least re-use this melody (that in fact i love because it reminds me of these obscure Lizzy Grant demos) and maybe soften the lyrics or change them.
Praying for high quality
🙏
“I can see why Lana didn’t want to release this, she would’ve got cancelled.”
As if Lana ever cared about getting cancelled. This song was so close to getting released and there’s nothing inappropriate about this song whatsoever. You guys keep saying this as if there is something wrong with the lyrics which is what Ocean Blvd is was entirely about, uncomfortable subjects that Lana felt had to be addressed. It’s like walking into the darkness and finding hope at the end of a tunnel.
Contextually the song makes sense in the album, it was meant to be played after A&W which had similar themes about sexual violence. Additionally, the lyric in A&W, “Forensic files wasn’t on, watching teenage diary of a girl wondering what went wrong” adds further context to both A&W and Zodiac. It suggests that Lana found some sort of comfort being able to relate to women who share the same struggles as her.
I agree. Though, I think it'd be more controversial rather than a song that'd get her "cancelled," because the case is still having developments. The song would've been perfect sat after A&W, and another thing that'd make sense in Lana relating is that this case happened near where she used to live.
Nothing wrong with the lyrics, but there could be issues between this song and the victims' families.
why would she be cancelled ? it is a song with good message
@@lalaw2not really
@@mayjailersirens why
@@mayjailersirens she isn't romanticising killings
honestly this would be my favourite song besides video games
This actually made me cry it’s so beautiful
yes but what means purify me ? i feel stupid
I love this and i feel like the family of the victims would see this as a tribute to them and girls that lost their lives i think its soo beautiful im literally crying… But i understand why lana didn’t release this
oh god, this is so dark
she has the potential to write something empowering for women, the purify me evokes some of her earlier nostalgic sad lyricism for the sake of being sad, but i do love the song regardless i just love anything dark and invoking
Sad but beautiful... I understand why it wasn't released, though.
WE NEED THIS RELEASED
i need it released
Wow, one of her darkest songs. It would have fit well in dykttatuob or blue banisters
FINALLY
THAT'S WHAT I'M SAYING
Maybe the wrong people would cancel her for bringing up their names when in fact it helps them to be remembered. Maybe another QFTC will happen if this song was released unfortunately....
To be honest, I was thinking the exact same thing. I think there’d be problems bringing up the names because of the victims’ families, considering this happened in recent times and legal updates are still occurring from what I’ve seen.
@@kaitibby I think only the very best Lana could do is to use a nickname of each of them just like how she named Jennifer in Blue Bannisters as jenny if that's even her real name. Subtle but will be respected. Again, we can't please everybody but this song speaks for itself and it's for grieving and solidarity for the women we lost in the dark.
They should go ahead and lose their time
Well it'd indeed be better if she asked the familes first before releasing it
@@kaitibby victims' families would be glad i have no idea why they wouldn't
THE INSTRUMENTAL IS SO ETHEREAL WHY TF WON'T SHE RELEASED THIS INSTEAD SHE RELEASED THOSE GARBAGE INTERLUDES 😭😭💔
😂
Gurll u did not omgg, all of them is good
@@Auvelious I'm talking about Judah's and Jon's interlude. They're fvcking garbage and I hated it. I absolutely love The Trio and Burnt Norton but Judah's and Jon's interlude is by far the worst interlude that Lana ever made
@@fudanshi62wrong you’re just tasteless
You're just offended omg, is not the first time I've seen you hate the interludes. If you don't get them, you don't get Lana Del Rey
Her best song
I tried my best with the lyrics. I morphed what I could hear with what was written on the Fandom page. I didn't add adlibs

Anyone gets meaning behind this song??
its in the description
@@zodiacpurifiedI still wonder what "purify me" line means. Maybe the meaning is hidden behind zodiac lore but idk. And I wonder why verses stays the same it has to have meaning
@@skazasp8197 I interpret that line two ways: (1) as wanting to cleanse the soul or finally being relieved/free. Again, the song discusses the Gilgo Beach murders, which involved women who were sex workers, some subjected to human trafficking.
I'd assume Lana's "Purify Me" is from the perspective of the victims. "Walk straight / Keep your head high" is that "you're never alone in the afterlife / Don't forget me" we see in the album, or finally reaching the gates of freedom from the abuse these women were subjected to.
(2) (if we want to get a bit religious): prostitution is seen as a sin, and that's what these victims are identified as... which made them vulnerable prey to the killer because it's easier to lure them (some of them had kids and needed the money), and many of the disappearances went unheard of (one of the girls had a drug addiction, so the family didn't assume anything of her leaving without word). To purify is to purge, so it'd make sense to recognize these women as human than by this label that a lot of people use to justify the disappearances and deaths. As horrible as that is to say.
Maybe I'm looking too much into it🤷♀️
@@kaitibbythat was a beautiful interpretation
@@kaitibby omg yeah thank you
Who are these people at the end of the song
@@lukaslourd Two known victims and one victim whose death is in possible connection to (also the main reason why new bodies were found in) the Gilgo beach murders.
@@kaitibbya "rest in Power" roll call of the victims, much as it is done in Revolutionary contexts, where the names of dead patriots are mentioned, along with the line "present in Spirit!!!"
what means purify me here?
please explain
