- Im just conducting a test on my oxford HD chain and lock that was cut from my surron when it was stolen. Makes you realise how ineffective chains can be.
I've learnt alot from this little experiment.

Good video Jonny showing how these supposed high security chains can be beaten.
Obviously I’m not going to go into my security, but it seems to me that you need a balanced anchor/chain/padlock combo and a more than one. I think you really need Almax/Pragmasis chains and Anchors these days that are supposed to be bolt-cropper proof Plus a multi security approach with cctv alarms and trackers.
It takes me 15 mins to get all the stuff off, but it’s well worth the delay in the slight peace of mind in knowing that hopefully they might try the next less secure target.
Well done for doing this video though. If it saves one other person going through some heartache in a stolen vehicle then it’ll have been worth it.

And yes don't tell anyone what you do, I won't keep anything out here now but if dirty and late in the day might have to stay out but rarely would that happen. Keep it separated also.
I'm making some good security stuff for that instance, like you takes ages now to unlock anything now. All you can do is slow them down and hope I'm on site.
Almax I've been looking at for convenience although with hydraulic croppers they won't survive long.
Cctv and tracker and booby traps is a must. I know they don't worry about cctv but hooefully it would alert me so I can do something.
Still hacked off I was so nieve to being done over, my dad use to say best way to learn is from a mistake, won't do that again.

Trackers now are tiny enough to hide even on an mtb there was a program on the bbc not long ago they set up bait bikes was an interesting watch.
Missed that program, yes I've narrowed down what tracker I want. Not sure how reliable the small 1s are or battery life. I shall check them out more first

Ive got padlocks going through my brake discs and some times take my cdi off my 140 so they cant start it and always use my chain what wraps through the frame then through both wheels and round the bars and forks
It's all you can do and every little helps give bike a better chance of surviving an attack. Can't do too much but can always do more. Even if it takes 20 mins getting it out, worth protecting 👌
It's all prevention mate. Nothing will stop a guy who is commuted if he wants it he will take it.
First. Use a decent lock. ABUS is best but pricey. Looking about 50 for just a disk lock.
Second ALARMED. Get an alarmed disk for lever lock. Any move meant of the bike and it screams at them. (Wind will not effect)
Third. More then one lock. The more you have the better if your bike has a disk lock, reminder cable, chain and the bike next to yours has just a disk lock. Guess which is gonna get stolen. He wants an easy day so dont let it be one!.

My guess is they used a battery powered Rebar cutter!, takes a second or 2 and is silent almost and small enough to hide.

Everything helps mate i don't think you can ever do enough. We spend lots on our bikes so we have to spend on security also.

Your guess is qs good as mine mate, I personally don't think so, maybe nieve of me but I do think they found bike in day and came back tooled up. I say this as was tyre marks into it. I'm probably wrong but definitely not keeping anything there again, only time will be when working on it etc..
2"-3" hardend steel marine anchor chain only heat can get through it u need a plasma cutter or gas torch and need heavy tools wich no thief will have too cumbersome and noisy and need compressed air and big power sauce for the plasma cutter and gas torch need big heavy tanks small tanks run out before the chain is cut me and my mate got some and took us all day and the noise was loud af 👍
I watched all your Video's and just recently subscribed to you. First of all I'm so sorry for your bike and I know how much it meant to you. Really heart breaking. I live in the USA and its sad this happens anywhere. I did give some serous thought to how maybe this could prevent someone to go through this extreme to steal your bike in the future. What makes your bike run and what is one of the most expensive things a thief would have to replace if he took it. Hmm... Take the battery out and put it in your house. Nobody wants a stolen bike that they have to spend 1500.00 dollars to get running and have stolen numbers on it. Also buy a tamper proof lock that has a cable that can only be cut with a grinder. That makes to much noise for a thieve. Also WiFi cameras. Small price for such a nice bike. Some very good locks have a no stolen Guaranty They will cover a lot of the bikes cost's. I really hope this helps and if I were rich I would buy you a new one. I'm not rich and everything I own is through hard earned money. Take care. I like that idea but I don't want them back else I might end up in prison, not right people think they can have everything for nothing. We work hard and save then it gets taken.

Yeah it seems like of the chain isn't on the ground is considerably harder. You seem to be having trouble with it even though it's on the ground, which tells me if the chain isn't in the ground, it would be hard AF.
Yes is dedinatly a more tricky task if off the ground. On the ground its easy. I think I could do better if I tried again I just had no idea using them.
with specific regards to the sur ron i would remove the battery and store it away from the bike and probably take the front wheel as well. most scumbag thieves wont want to buy a £900 pound battery.
School boy error by me not taking battery out, won't happen again. Either wheel out will help yes. More preventatives the better chance bike has.

If they was drinking around your house you should see if your local sweet shop has cctv, dog theft is extremely high right now, and in rural areas for farm equipment, time so start taking shit into our hands 👍🏻👌🏻
I did all I could, local shop is a coop and they won't let cctv footage be viewed,data protection.
Dog thefts are high for rural crime and like you said all rural crime is getting more common. Just need catching red handed by a physco
