There was also the episode where Taihei, Umaru and Kirie were playing a video game version of "Life" or whatever, and at some point, Taihei's character became a chef, married with 3 children... and his "wife" looked an awful lot like Ebina. Though probably cutest of all was how Taihei was described as a "Cooking Papa."
That may have just been a nod at the fact there is a short running Ebina side manga. It’s non-canon of course since the author wanted the series to remain open-ended.

@@jhrtelem Akita Imokko! Ebina-Chan… which very roughly means soneth8ng like “The little Sister from Akita! Ebina-Chan”. Referring to the fact that she is originally from a rural town and all.

I prefer Kanau X Taihei more honestly since she has feelings for him since high school
Kanau is too slow about it hence her failure through the entire manga. They did do a what-if side series of Ebina with Taihei after they were more grown up, which is as much of a win as you get in this kind of series (as it means the author recognizes the popularity if the pairing).
