@@BillyKearneyReacts The fact that you are listening to the fanatics that told you to do so, IS the reason you won't be getting THIS subscriber, and why your channel won't be growing as much as you had hoped. NEVER listen to gung ho fans, because, they've already seen the movies and want more, but even Peter Jackson, the director prefers the TRs (Theatrical Releases), stating that the EEs are full of deleted scenes and fluff pieces ... i.e. that also give spoilers that ruin some reveals way ahead of time, going into unnecessary tangents and redirecting your focus on superfluous, unimportant fodder.

I own and have seen both versions many times, and in "MY" opinion, which means absolutely nothing to anyone except me, is that I agree with Peter Jackson. They are too long, give away way too much way too soon, and go off on tangents that distract you from the focus of the story and films ... Frodo and Sam taking the ring to be destroyed.
Everything else is another story better suited to additional viewings or later discovery by serious fans ... not first time or casual observers.

At 29:14 you ask, "Where are the nineteen other Rings?" In the book, Tolkien explains that the Rings were closely held, and only their bearers knew where they were. The Nine Rings of Men we've already seen in action; they are borne by the Nazgul or Ringwraiths. The Seven Rings of the Dwarves play almost no role in the story and none at all in the movie. Gandalf tells Frodo, "Seven the Dwarf-kings possessed, but three he has recovered, and the others the dragons have consumed." If you watch the Extended Version of the movie, you'll see one of the Three Rings of the Elves shortly; another appears in passing near the end of ROTK.

Enjoyed watching the movie with you! When Frodo puts on the Ring and escapes from Boromir, the action gets a little hard to follow. Frodo climbs to the top of a hill named Amon Hen, the Hill of the Eye, where the Men of Numenor had built a great stone seat, represented in the movie by a throne made of four black Eagles. A person sitting in the seat sometimes would receive visions of faraway places. Frodo sees all of the West of Middle-earth swarming with Sauron's creatures, from the Misty Mountains to the Ethir Anduin, the delta of the Great River in the South. His vision is then drawn to Sauron's fortress of Barad-dur, and he becomes aware of the great Eye searching for him. In the book, Sauron's gaze is resisted by a Power from a different source, and Frodo in the last instant takes off the Ring an escapes Sauron's Eye. The Breaking of the Fellowship is actually done better in the movie than in the book, in my opinion. In the book, poor Aragorn is always in the wrong place at the wrong time. In frustration, he climbs Amon Hen and sits in the seat, but he sees nothing useful. Just to indicate the depth of Tolkien's vision, the book refers to another hill on the other side of the Great River named Amon Lhaw, the Hill of the Ear. Presumably there would be another seat that would produce sounds from far away. Tolkien doesn't say, but it's there...

Boromir was not a bad man, he was the one with the deepest desire. To protect his people. The ring took his strong desire and it basically influenced him even more than the others he also lived right across for Mordor. So Gandalf, Sauron, Saruman, and even the balrog are basically like angels. When Gandalf died for the hobbits it was like losing a grandfather but for Legolas and Aragorn who knew what Gandalf was it was like a Christian watching Jesus die. That’s why they both looked shocked and so confused.

To add to what a couple of people have already mentioned:
Just as Gandalf said, there are many magic rings in the world, not just the Rings of Power. Which is the reason why he didn't figure it out earlier that Bilbo had the One Ring.
He assumed that it was one of the lesser rings, not the One Ring. He knew where the other Rings of Power were, and would have never dreamed that it was the One Ring, so he never thought of it.
It is unclear though how many lesser rings are in existence.

Hello, good reaction, some information from the first scene, the war of the last alliance lasted 7 years and those who faced Sauron were actually King Gil - Galad, who carried a powerful spear called Aeglos. You can see him in one scene, the other. King is Elendil, the tall one who carried the narcil sword. Together they defeated Sauron and in turn Isildur died. His son only extracted the ring from Sauron's corpse.

So glad you are reacting to these! Your comments and reactions are great. I think you really captured what is so incredible about the movies and, even more, the books upon which the films are based - it's a world we want to be in; it's a world we want to keep going back to, again and again, whether that means rewatching the movies and/or rereading the books. There is evil, but there is also virtue; there is courage as well as betrayal; beauty and honor- but the characters are complex and not one-dimensional. Enjoy!

That’s something I think everybody thought, going into this one. We had trilogies, before this, but that was Back to the Future and Star Wars. Those didn’t know there would really be three of them when they made that first one lol

If you haven't already watched the other 2 films the Extended Editions are great. They add some small, extra scenes which really enhance the movies, some of the characters backstory, and the overall story. They aren't overly longer either, so it's well worth to watch them. Plus, if you thought it was over so quickly, they simply add more of the movie which is never a bad thing for LOTR. Excited to see your reaction to the other movies! Subscribed!

It's a powerful story that triggers a range of emotions, and Peter Jackson has done an amazing job of retelling the story.
One interesting side note is that George RR Martin was inspired by the Fellowship when writing Game of Thrones. He said that the destruction of Gandalf the Grey, and the death of Boromir made him realise that it was OK to kill off main characters, which was something that story tellers were reluctant to do in the 20th century.

YOU RUINED IT! You don't watch the Lord of the rings out of ORDER! The Hobbit Series is the beginning of the story, the Lord of the Rings series is the end of the story, you jumped into this complex story at the END! This would be confusing and you don't have the back history to see why this is important. If you watch the Hobby Series first, and get the back story, the story then changes to the Lord of the rings which is SHOCKING when you find out what the end story is! You only get this shock ONCE and you ruined it by watching this complex series out of chronological order. Each film builds on the next and keeps getting better and adds value to the next film with it's back history. Watching the end, and the watching the beginning later is anti climatic and ruins the experience!
