    Love it, love it. Honestly I've loved looking forward to new episodes to finish the series, mostly because what you do in each video is show very strong marks of progress to a very intensive project.

    This helped me so much. The white paint added to the resin really made the difference in a realistic look. Amazing work, as always

    This format works far better than most others - episodic maintains the interest and also allows people to work through at the same pace.

    As far as an answer to your question Luke. Yes, The multi-part vids are great. It's easier to keep up with the step-by-step that way. Thanks for your instruction!!!!

    I think a varied range of videos is optimal. I enjoy both the quick tutorials/tips and the longer videos as this one.I'm currently working on a bigger piece myself, so this "series" has been very helpful! Great work as usual!

    Hey, Luke. I'm curious about how you might do a path in the snow from people walking across the snow, packing it down and revealing some of the dirt and grass underneath. It would be cool to add a bit of backstory to the scene, you know, showing how people might actually travel across the land. Thanks for the great videos!

    Interesting stuff, that snow flocking; I tend more towards Woodland Scenics, but I'm always looking for new things to add (just picked up the Secret Weapon crushed glass stuff which I'm eager to experiment with). Even though, in terms of time and resources, doing the foliage and green flocking to such a degree probably isn't worth it, it does add an interesting layer of realism to the whole scene and I'm definitely looking forward to seeing how the ice turns out. I would definitely like to see more videos like this.

    Hey there Luke, I might be a railway modeller but by GOD am I glad I stumbled across this video! I often blanch at the price of 'proper' modelling stuff such as Woodland Scenics, but that little hint about the filler was bloody useful, as was using the sieve from a height; very realistic.
    Which varnish do you use, by the way? I've seen spray varnishes in art shops, Wilko and Halfords but I'm clueless as to which one to go for!
    I'll keep an eye out for your videos,
    Alexandra

    One major thing with doing snow and ice is that you normally do the ice before the snow if you're going for a more natural look.
    This is mainly because the snow tends to engulf parts of the ice and you'll have bits of snow around on the ice.

    • @AzraelThanatos
      @AzraelThanatos 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Was meaning that if you look at the top of a frozen lake or pond, the snowtends to advance from the banks inward, leaving mainly the middle sections as the only open areas with the rest being a layer of snow over it.

  • @MattG-mw7zi

    A good option for the powdered snow that is real cheap is baking soda. It could use some glitter or whatever, but in general it works great.

    An d before you start to snow, put down plenty of old paper as it gets everywhere and if its on floor, takes ages to get rid of it but looks a lot better than mine did.

    Hi Luke, was wondering, is there any way to do a temporary snow effect on a model/layout? Where you can sift snow on, no use of adhesive, and when you want to change the season back, could you use a tiny low powered vaccum to suck it all up? Possible? not possible? Am I just being an idiot? lol
