- I started to carve a new Kuksa on my last camp. While it was drying in my shed it cracked. I've since had some great advice from friends on Instagram to help avoid cracking in the future. So I started a new carving on this trip. I didn't film the first part as it was pretty much the same as the last video.
I've been testing some new camping kit. A game changer for our camping set up is the PowerOak EB150 1500wh Power Station and the Dometic CDF26 Fridge. Along with the 'Apple like' build quality of the Olight Perun Head Torch.
As we continue to refine the set up ready for longer trips, power and refrigeration are crucial to making life as easy as possible. It's holiday enjoyment and camping comfort we're aiming for with our Jimny build so while I'm obviously a kit junkie these items especially can make a big difference. Long term they are worth the investment.

Yeah it’s the Poweroak 1500w power station. An absolute beast. It’ll cover easy a full week of our power needs camping. The fridge literally draws hardly anything and if not for plugging in my broken’ish MacBook I’d have come home on day 3 with the power station still on full bars. I charged the fridge, leds and recharged my iPhone a few time’s along with other bits of tech. I reached out to poweroak and they gave me a code that I’d put in the description. 👍

Great inspiration, like this to, travel to a spot not reached by every car some times and camp with my Mahindra Thar witch looks just about as fitting as your Jimny. Hi Geordie, I'am Choki.........greeting from Indonesia.......what a nice camping gear and vehicle....simple, light-weight yet useful. I wonder where you get the wood for fire ? cutting down small trees from surround camping location (is it permitted ?), buy from the wood worker, or hunting (collecting) from the fallen branches/trees ?
Hi Choki, the owners of the campsite sell firewood and kindling to use. You can find some deadfall if there is any but it’s a popular woodland campsite and there’s often very little fallen branches. Campers are definitely not permitted to cut down live trees and the owners have a tree planting fund you can donate too when you camp 😎👍
So wanted 1 the jimny settled for the new vitara a 57 plat love it but shame it hast got 4x4 but defo planning on camping build up my camp stuff off amazon just need this covid 19 to piss off 👍
Yeah mate there’s some class camping gear on amazon. To be fair I hardly use 4WD, good to know it’s there though!

Hi, fantastic videos, must say yours are amoungst those that I really look out for. A question if you don't mind. Do you have any regrets about buyng the Jimny? i mean in terms of size, I know that nobody buys it if they want loads of space , that would be plain daft. But have you found that it is too limiting? If you were buying again, would you still get the Jimny or go for something a wee bit bigger? I only ask as I love the look of it but wonder if in 12 months I'll be wishing I went for a truck or something a little bit bigger. All the best from a scouser living in New Zealand.

For what I’m doing with mine there’s a lot of limits to factor in every decision. Payload being the main one. I wish the car had a bit more grunt and a bigger fuel tank. The range on the auto is ok for a small compact country like the UK but I can imagine in bigger countries this becoming a problem.
The suspension change really did transform the car though and I’m just having to get creative with what I DIY and buy for the build.
All in all I love it and there’s just the 2 of us so the small size is manageable. It’s definitely not for everyone though!

Hmm good question. Mostly from taking time out on my own I’d say. All the ideas for things to try to help with staying organised when camping. It’s not for everyone but being away alone is a fantastic ’reset button’.

Yeah mate it’s a game changer. If I hadn’t plugged in my MacBook it wouldn’t have lost even one bar over the 2 days. The MacBook was pulling 96w! So camera kit, lights, fridge etc it’ll easily power for many days off grid. Impressive! Thought it was too big but it fits behind the passenger seat that was dead space. Win win
