So many memories at Geauga Lake/Sea World! I went there many times as a kid and when it became Six Flags Worlds Of Adventure my wife and I worked there for one season when we were dating. We got to work on the X-Flight the first year it was there. Now I live literally 5 min away and every time I drive by the back entrance by Raging Wolf Bobs I get a pit in my stomach. RWB and the Big Dipper are still there just rotting away and the place is a complete eye sore now, so sad!
Dominator (Kings Dominion) was Dominator/Batman Knight Flight. Carolina Cobra (Carowinds) was Head Spin/Mind Eraser. Possessed (Dorney Park) was Steel Venom/Superman Ultimate Escape. Thunderhawk (Michigan's Adventure) was Thunderhawk/Serial Thriller. Firehawk (Kings Island) was X-Flight. Cedar Fair bought the park for $145,000,000. Total cost for buying these rides brand new is $55,000,000. They operated the park for a couple years and made more money, and more with the water park.
I swear I remember them using this song in 2002 when they switched the name to sixflags worlds of adventure. By the time I actually got into rollercoasters (about 2 years after I rode Double Loop and Villain AKA: my first coasters.) The park was already closed, so I never got to ride dominator and Steel Venom. I dont have the money to go to VA or PA to ride either of them.
Very nice, I loved Geauga Lake. You had another video of the park on TH-cam before too, I hope you'll add that back on at some point. That one was my favorite ("Arrow monstrosity," "Take the ferry across the lake," etc.) but this one is great too.

Gosh I miss the old place. I cannot believe that 5 years ago I was riding great coasters like the Big Dipper, Dominator, and Steel Venom. I am happy that Robb got this video records of GL. Do you have full povs of the rides or just clips? Thanks again for bringing back the old memories without playing some sad sarah mclachlan song. R.I.P. Geauga Lake. @dabeothic the coster in 2:08 (Double Loop) was never relocated. The Dominator also operates in Kings Dominion under the same name. None of the coasters at Geauga lake were relocated to Cedar Point.
I went there when I was a kid! I wish I could go again :)
at 1:18 is that inversion called a rollout?
Most of the steel roller coasters are still in operation today at other Cedar Fair parks, Batman (0:52) (Dominator) is in Kings Dominion VA. Serial Thriller (1:08) (Thunderhawk) is in Michigan's Adventure. X-Flight (2:57) is now Firehawk in Kinghs Island, OH. The Roadrunner Express (0:20) is now one of 3 Woodstock Express's at one of the Cedar Fair park (they're all the same). Superman (1:26) (Steel Venom) is now "Possessed" at Dorney Park, PA.

+uss iowa Yes, the Double loop was bought by a scrap company, and, well, they did what scrap companies do. +BeepDees commented that (2:08) was the corkscrew, It is the double loop, The Corkscrew was dismantled in 1995-6 and sent at MGM Dizzee World in Muthukadu, India.. (he also said wrongly, the Dominator was now Cedar Point's Raptor)
Mind-Bender and the swing ride is at Carowinds, as The Flying Cobras and Yo-Yo
The Intamin Impulse Coasters are very awesome yet super loud
Impressive set of rides, and next to Sea 🌎 to boot! I was born just south of that region-- never got to go there. Too bad.

Wow to think all of those rides were sold to other parks, at 2:08 its called the corkscrew now but its at cedar point the dominator is at cedarpoint but its called raptor

Because it was not profitable because of the changes six flags made. Kennywood was bringing in more money than this park in 2006.

Cedar Fair probably bought this because it was a cheap way to get "new" roller coasters for their other parks, and get money for selling the older ones for scrap.
Dominator (Kings Dominion), Carolina Cobra (Carowinds), Possessed (Dorney Park), Thunderhawk (Michigan's Adventure), and Firehawk (Kings Island) were all here and ARE NOT new. Big Dipper, Double Loop, Raging Wolf Bobs, and Villian were all sold for scrapmetal.

re-open Geauga lake, because if florida and cali can have all those amusemaents parks then they need to bring back Geauga lake

@sixflagsfan1113 A couple was able to buy The Big Dipper, years ago. I've heard that it's still standing where the main park used to be. Any word on the final fate of the 12th oldest roller coaster in the world?

I still say this could be in the top 5 Six Flags/Cedar Fair Parks if it never closed. Maybe the profit numbers say otherwise, but I don't go by numbers. I go by visuals.

Yeah, quite some time ago. If you Google Earth the park and rotate the camera, one view has the rides, one view just has pylons.
Was that the last day Six Flags was open? Cause I went there before they totally closed permanently
Cheyenne Horner It became Geauga Lake when Cedar Point purchased it. It eventually closed then.

I swear, if I ever win the lottery, the first damn thing ima do, (Besides investing in the stock market, and opening fast food franchises, to keep the money flowing.) is replicating Six Flags Worlds of Adventure, exactly how it was in the 2002-2003 season. And even adding some more rides. Obviously I can't open it in Aurora, or anywhere in Ohio, cause it was a really bad location for an amusement park, cause there are too many parks there already. I would probably open it, either in, Colorado, Texas, or Washington State. Well that's my dream...

Nicholas Menasian World's of Adventure grew way too quickly for Aurora, making it a bad location to try to visit the huge park, causing its downfall. Sandusky has way more hotels since Cedar Point grew more naturally to have more time to get support in the area.
I would put it in Geauga Lake's old place and call it Geauga Lake. But make it huge over a series of 5-10 years.
