One of the rarest moments in my life , when , before watching the video , i feel this itchy feeling , that it`ll be magnificient !!! Thank you so much , Rusty, for sharing your wisdom with us.
How can anyone not like this video? Merci from Western Switzerland. My piano lesson has been cancelled for the last 2 weeks, and I discovered your channel. You really have a way to teach musically...which is my weak point. But it's slowly changing. BTW I hope you are playing pain free. if not you might want to see my video on exercises to stabilize and strengthen the low back, but you have to do 30 seconds of exercises each day. And I have many treatments and exercises for the shoulders, arms and hands. Oh My Aching Bach
No greetings from Chicago LT! I appreciate the comment! I’m really glad you’re getting something from the videos. I’m old, so my whole body hurts! I will check out your video! Talk to you soon Lawrence🙏
Everybody will teach and not make an impact, until it's taught by Rusty, and everything falls into place like it's meant to be. Many thanks Rusty, I have made great progress with your lessons, I don't know how to thank you 🙏🏼
Rusty - just came across your lesson on double-stops, and I think it was exactly what I needed to hear at exactly the right time. I've been playing for a long time, but I had been having a hard time advancing. Been working on scales and phrases, but I wasn't "feeling it" musically. Listening to you play and explain as you went along made some things come together for me. I was unconsciously thinking of double-stops as something separate, somehow, from the licks and phrases I was playing. This struck me as the link between those single-note lines and chords. Thank you!
Informative, thank you. Anyone who hasn't heard Chris Buck play really should check him out. He is SO good, and someone I learn a great deal from. His touch on the guitar is phenomenal.
Thank you Rusty! I've watched many TH-cam channels over the years but your style really speaks to me. I don't get bored in the complexity of the lessons, everything you're showing me instantly applies to my level of playing. You're filling in the gaps that I missed over the years.
So glad to hear that Bryan! Glad you got something from the lesson! We both needed these kind of lessons early on! Thanks for checking out the video and let’s talk soon👍
I really like the points you made here... Ive asked lots of people HOW to learn to improvise.... NONE ANSWERED ME! In a way that is practical and sensible!! OMG you kilked it! 🙏🎉🏆
great stuff not too much to sit and practice a chart in the corner to see where your playing and I have learnt a whole heap from that lesson , THANK YOU SO MUCH
Great lesson Rusty! The great thing about double stops is that they're ambiguous. "F" and "A" for example is part of the Fmaj chord as well as the Dmin chord. In the first it's root + maj 3rd and the 2nd it's min 3rd + 5th. Cheers, Martin
Double stops sound so good in blues rock solos. I don’t use them enough myself. I want to get better at using them on the fly! But let’s keep working on them together my friend. Happy new year! Thanks for all your support in this past year.👍
Another awesome lesson buddy 👍🏻 double stops sound so sweet in this context. Really like putting these into my playing Rusty. Thanks mate 👍🏻🏴🎸 & I did chuckle at 5:08 🤣
Hey Rusty, I love double stops, they certainly give a ‘dug in’ gritty sound in many situations 🤙. You can be playing something clean and picking ever so gently and then all of the sudden change the dynamics of it by one slam of a double stop! Thanks for sharing your little tips here, I’ll certainly practice a bunch of this today here Rusty! Thanks again, Tommy~
You’re right, Thomas, playing the two notes together adds a lot of dynamic! Fun stuff! Thanks so much for checking out the video and have a great rest of your week buddy 👍

I bought it used. So I don’t know for sure what model or year. But it is American made in the early 2000s. It not only looks good, but it sounds in plays fantastic! Thanks for watching and I hope you have a merry Christmas and happy new year holiday🙏
I can definitely do that Mark! But in most videos, I’m using the Carr mercury V amp set clean. With some reverb from the amp. And then using a J Rocket Audio archer pedal. That’s my core sound. Thanks so much for checking out the video and talk to you soon Mark.👍
Just harmonizing notes from the C major and A minor scales. Then just creating a simple melody from it. So simply doing both. Thanks for checking out the video.👍
Old dudes call it double stop, less-older dudes call it chicken pickin', and the least oldest dudes call it hybrid picking. The applications are different, but the technique is the same -> use finger to pluck a different string in conjuction with your normal plectrum
